Viking News - The Week of 5/20/2024

Happy Friday, RHS Students,
This past week truly felt like Spring with a number of senior athletic celebrations, the Spring performances of Subtext, an extraordinary Songwriter's performance at the Shalin Liu Performance Center, and a culminating Internship Fair in the gym to name just a few. This coming weekend is Motif #1 Day with a variety of exciting events happening all throughout the town. We hope you will come out in support of this amazing event! After a day downtown, be sure to stop by Evan's field to join us in honoring the boys' baseball players at their senior night game and/or swing by the Bandstand at Back Beach to hear the RPS musicians! We will be taking over the town with so many opportunities to honor the accomplishments of our kids.
A reminder for students in grade 10 that there are Math MCAS exams on Tuesday, May 21st and Wednesday, May 22nd. Please be in school and on-time for this state-mandated exam. If you have questions, please contact Ms. King.
On a lighter note, the week ahead brings one of my favorite events of the year, the Senior Showcase! The event serves to represent a number of talents and is open to the public. Please join us in honoring our seniors at the Shalin Liu Performance Center this coming Thursday, May 23rd at 6:30 pm. This coming Friday, we will be welcoming a surprise guest speaker to be followed by ice cream and music out on the back field. I look forward to celebrating with the middle/high school students as we celebrate an exciting year. 🍦🎶🎉

Opportunities are available on the RHS website under Community Resources. If you have any questions please contact Ann-Marie Luster at aluster@rpk12.org.
Class of 2024:
Time to complete your Graduation Survey! The Guidance office needs some information from you regarding your future plans. Completion of the survey is a requirement in order to receive your cap and gown.
Log into Naviance and complete the Graduation Survey to provide your future plans for after graduation (work, college, military, gap year, etc.). For those attending college, we also need to know your final choice so that we can send them your final transcript in late June.
When you log into Naviance, the survey is listed on your home page as an "Important Task or To-Do". Alternatively, you can access it by clicking on "About Me" > "Surveys from my School".
Scholarship opportunities are still available. Please check outside guidance for the Cape Ann Graduate Fund Scholarship and the Robert Clark Rogers Opportunity Fund through Wellspring. Due May 20th.
Class of 2025:
Guidance will be holding a Common App boot camp for all Juniors on May 30th during U Block. The sign up sheet will be available outside guidance. Juniors please make sure you can log into your Naviance account.
