Central Linn School District Thanks Sweet Home Elks #1972 for Supporting Our Elementary School!
The Central Linn School District and local elementary schools extend heartfelt thanks to Sweet Home Elks Lodge #1972 for their generous outreach and support. Recently, the Elks reached out to Central Linn to identify specific items that would benefit students and schools, demonstrating their commitment to enhancing educational resources. Through funding from the Elks National Foundation Beacon Program, Sweet Home Elks Lodge #1972 provided essential school supplies—including paper, notebooks, crayons, and pencils—to local elementary students, ensuring that staff and students have the tools they need for a successful school year.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Sweet Home Elks #1972 for their proactive support,” stated Board Chair Karo (pictured above). “Their generosity truly makes a difference for our students and teachers.”
This partnership underscores the Elks’ dedication to local youth and education, helping meet crucial needs in Central Linn schools. Thank You!
"Tie-riffic" Students of Central Linn Elementary School!
Each of these outstanding students received a special tie from Mr. Sauter in recognition of their terrific character and dedication as students. We're incredibly proud of their hard work, kindness, and positive attitude! The "Terrific Little Cobras" program celebrates Central Linn students who consistently make great choices or show big improvements in their behavior. Every Friday, Mr. Sauter highlights these students during the Pledge of Allegiance and invites them to his office to select a tie, which he signs and dates. They even get their photo taken, and at the end of each month, all tie recipients enjoy a pizza lunch together. On "Tie-riffic Tuesdays," students proudly wear their ties to celebrate their achievements.
These students will join other October winners for a special pizza party with Mr. Sauter. Congratulations to our "Tie-riffic" students! Keep up the fantastic work!

Mrs. Derrickson's kindergarteners had an amazing day at Detering Orchards on Wednesday! They enjoyed a hay ride around the fields, snacked on apples, sipped apple cider, and picked out their own pumpkin. Back in the classroom, they drew scientific pictures with descriptive words, then weighed and measured their pumpkins before testing if they would float! Such a fun, hands-on learning adventure!
Honoring Our Veterans at Central Linn Elementary
As Veterans Day approaches, we’re excited to bring our entire school together for a special tribute. Every elementary student took part by tracing their handprints on brown paper, and these handprints are now proudly displayed as feathers on a majestic Bald Eagle—a powerful symbol of freedom and bravery.
Join us as we honor our Veterans with a heartfelt program on November 8th at 9:00 a.m. This event is open to our community, so bring your pride and appreciation for the heroes who have served our country. Together, let’s show our gratitude and make this a memorable day for all!
Statewide In-Service Day Focuses on Early Literacy and Writing
On October 11th, Central Linn elementary teachers joined Harrisburg teachers in a Statewide In-Service Day focusing on strengthening early literacy skills—especially writing! Teachers collaborated and learned new strategies to support young students in developing these essential skills. With fresh ideas and inspiration, they’re ready to bring these valuable tools back to their classrooms. Teachers left with renewed inspiration and strategies to support their students' early literacy development, setting a strong foundation for future academic success. We love the collaboration between our two districts!

With Board Chair Karo, Mr. Shannon, Mr. Geider, and Sweet Home Elks Lodge District Hoop Shoot Chairman, Mr. Claasen (pictured below), we’re thrilled to announce that the new CTE building was approved for soft occupancy!
Our construction classes have officially moved into their brand-new space and are continuing their class projects. While we’re still awaiting final occupancy approval and electrical work, the class will be powering through with their battery-operated tools to keep the momentum going! The energy and excitement from the students are contagious, and we can’t wait to see all that they accomplish in this amazing new space!
Want to support the class? They'll be participating in the Annual Booster Club Auction this spring! Mark your calendars—the date will be announced soon. We hope to see you there to show your support!"

Homecoming Week and Halloweek Was A Success!
Homecoming week was successful! A small crew attended Cobra Fest, but they played their hearts out on the football field! Juniors dominated Macho Volleyball, despite the seniors best efforts. On the PowderPuff field, Grant Wahl coached and cheered his freshman/junior team to a decisive victory! The bonfire was so big you could see it from the freeway, and Mrs. Cleveland had to ask random people who stopped in to see what was happening to be on their way! The Halsey Fire Dept did a great job keeping us safe! The Cobra football team defeated Jefferson on the field, and Coen Schneiter and Jennifer Smith were crowned king and queen. The dance was held at the Brownsville Rec Center - it was cozy but rockin'.
Leadership planned a week of fun activities for Halloweek. Students dressed up each day and trick-or-treated on campus this morning. Hopefully, the sugar rush didn’t wear off before our afternoon classes!
