Safety - Lockdown Drill Follow Up
Last week Dewey students and staff participated in our first lockdown drill of the school year.. The safety and well-being of our students are our top priorities, and this drill was an important step in ensuring that we are prepared for any emergency situation.
The students and staff did an excellent job following the procedures, and we are proud of how well they responded. Our goal is always to make these drills as smooth and calm as possible, while teaching students the importance of staying safe in a potential emergency.
If your child has any concerns or questions following the drill, please feel free to reach out to their teacher or the office for support. We encourage you to continue conversations at home about the importance of following safety protocols in a calm and reassuring manner.
Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our school community safe.
Order forms are being sent home this week!
First Family Night is Coming!
PFO Corner- HELP NEEDED!
We are still looking for classroom Room Reps for a number of classes. The Room Rep acts as a liaison between the PFO and the parents of students in the class. Their role involves communicating PFO events and activities to parents, gathering feedback and concerns from parents to share with the PFO and working with our Volunteer Coordinators to ensure we’re able to provide these special Dewey Events. The Room Rep is a vital role at Dewey but it does not require a huge time commitment. While we would love to have you at our monthly meetings, it is not required. Our Room Rep Coordinators will often draft messages for you to send to your class and our Volunteer Coordinators help manage the volunteer needs. The PFO appreciates your help and partnership!
Please visit deweypfo.com for more information about ways to get involved, our PFO executive board and committee chairs, and an online store for Dewey merchandise!
