Reminder: Cameras On in Virtual Learning starting January 4
In prior newsletters, we shared our thoughts on increased student engagement and achievement when cameras are on in the virtual classroom.
Effective Monday, January 4th, all teachers will be using Google Meet for virtual instruction, and students in Google Meet virtual classrooms will be expected to turn their cameras on during class in order to promote student engagement and achievement. (Exceptions were granted in special circumstances.)

Winter Break Food Bundle Bags - FREE for all families
The Sycamore Child Nutrition Department is offering all Sycamore families the opportunity to pick up FREE “Winter Break Bundle Bags” for all children between the ages of 1-18. We are offering a Saturday pick-up date in the hopes that most families that need access to food over the break have the opportunity to pick up outside of the normal school day. When: Saturday, December 19th from 10:00 - 11:30 am Where: Sycamore High School - Athletic Entrance What: These “Winter Break Food Bundle Bags” will contain a variety of breakfast and lunch items, a variety of fruit and bulk frozen and fresh veggies, as well as 1 gallon of milk per student (if the family wants it). Who can order: ANY Sycamore family (face-to-face AND virtual) can order for ANY of their children in their household between the ages of 1-18 years of age. These will be FREE to all families. ORDER YOUR BUNDLE BAGS HERE: Please understand that if you sign up for bundle bag(s) we expect that either you or someone in place of you will come to pick up the food. Any leftover will be wasted due to the Winter Break so it is imperative that you pick up any bundle bags ordered. The deadline to order is this Sunday, December 13th. 2020/2021 Immunization Requirements
Please turn in your required immunization paperwork to nurse Amy Bonham ASAP at jhimmunization@sycamoreschools.org.
In Ohio, the following vaccines are required by law:
7th-grade students must show proof that they have received (1) dose of Tdap, and (1) dose of MCV4 . This requirement must be met NO LATER THAN THE 14th day of attendance at school for the 2020-21 school year.

Reunification
In the event of an emergency where an evacuation of the school building is necessary, students will be transported to safety at Sycamore Community Schools’ reunification site:

After School Detention and Friday School Parent Pick Up
Please note the following schedule and procedure
- After School Detention (3:15 - 5 PM)
- Friday School (3:10 - 5:45 PM)
When detention is over, students will be escorted to the entrance of the main lobby to be released.
A parent picking up a student should arrive promptly at the front entrance and remain in their car until the student exits the building.
