Tashua Family Weekly Update
Mrs. Neumeyer, Principal
September 27, 2024
Dear Tashua Families,
Did you know...Monday is National Love People Day? From a gentle word to the gift of needed resources, love provides all forms of support. Help your children find ways to show unconditional love for your neighbors, colleagues, friends, and your community.
- Volunteer – When you volunteer in your community, you do several things. You keep resources and dollars local. Your efforts help those in your immediate surroundings, lifting them up as you do. You also help create resources that demonstrate your love and that of your community.
- Share – Whether you share your bounty or praise others’ contributions to their community, you share a message of love and support for your fellow human beings.
- Give – Giving to others is an act of love. You may not have much to give, but sometimes people don’t need much more than companionship, information, advice, encouragement, or a hug - and all of those are free for the giving Source: Nationalcalendarday.com
Fun fact: The intermediate variant between the red heart of love and the yellow heart of friendship is the color orange, which is most associated with warmth, care and sunshine - just like our Tashua Tigers!
Throughout the month of October, Tashua will be collecting NEW socks (all sizes) for the Bridgeport Rescue mission as part of the community service project Socktober. Hope you can join us to support this great cause!
On Friday, October 18th, Trumbull Public Schools will be taking the Pink Pledge in support of the Norma Pfriem Breast Center. To participate, please wear pink and bring in $1 or you can donate any amount using the Tashua link PINK PLEDGE 2024.

TAKE NOTE
Morning Drop off and Afternoon Pick up
We asking for your help to keep students safe at morning drop off and afternoon pick up. To avoid unsafe conditions, we need everyone to correctly follow our pick-up and drop-off procedures.
When these procedures are not followed, we put our students and parents at risk.
It is strongly recommended that parents DO NOT make a left off of Stonehouse Rd to access our Dayton Rd entrance. It is safest for our children if all parents access the Dayton Road entrance by travelling towards school via Asbury Rd, Old Village Lane or Lake Ave (see map below).
In addition, it is unsafe for parents to make 3-point turns during drop off and pick up with the increase in traffic and walkers at this time. Thank you for your continuing support in making Tashua School a safe environment for all!
Assessments
As a reminder, some of our students in Grades K - 3 will continue districtwide DIBELS testing until October 8th. DIBELS is a universal screener that asses the acquisition of foundational literacy skills.
