Examining the Elements of Science
High Quality Instruction in Science
About These Workshops...
Learn about the attributes of high-quality instruction in science through a multi-part series examining the Ohio’s Learning Standards and Model Curriculum for Science and the Nature of Science. The Scientific and Engineering Practices will be unpacked, and attendees will reflect on and learn how to employ the practices as part of their instruction. In the winter, we will explore the elements of high-quality instruction & share how to use the HQIM Science rubric to help evaluate curricular materials. We will close out the series by providing resources to help implement and build on the practices and illustrate how using the practices can support the Science of Reading.
