Black History Month

We celebrate Black History Month to honor the history, achievements, and contributions of Black people in the United States and around the world. It's a time to learn about important leaders like Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, and many others who worked for freedom, fairness, and equality. Black History Month also helps us remember the struggles Black people faced, like slavery and segregation, and how they overcame challenges with strength and courage. By celebrating this month, we show respect for their stories and learn how everyone can help make the world a better and fairer place.

A Message from Principal Tellechea

Thank you for all you do to partner with us to educate our children. We are grateful for your ongoing communication and support. Last month we had a strong turnout of families, staff, and community members at our first Measure C workshop where we gathered input and ideas to guide the design and full renovation of Chapman Elementary school. We also had a full house at our recent movie night. Both events remind me of what I love about Chapman Elementary school and that is our strong sense of community.

In the words of Maya Angelou, "the area where we are the greatest is the area in which we inspire, encourage and connect with another human being." Chapman families and students inspire and encourage our work at Chapman every day. Cat Corner

Huge thanks to PTA, Ms. Walling, Ms. Callahan, Mr. Linker, Ms. Rivera, and Jonny Walling for hosting our first movie night of the year. We had a great turnout and loved seeing our families enjoying a movie together.
