OLVCS Updates
February 20th, 2025
Dear OLVCS Families,
After discussions with my family, and conversations with Fr. George, I have made the decision to continue as principal at OLVCS indefinitely. As I said when I first returned, I love this school, our students, families, coworkers and this job. I am happy to be here.
I also wanted to share that Mrs. Jennifer Rogan is stepping down as Preschool Director beginning March 10th. As the Principal of OLVCS, part of my responsibilities is overseeing the Preschool. Mrs. Rogan has been a fabulous director, although we do collaborate, she has been running the building. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working with Mrs. Rogan; she will be missed.
I am happy to announce that starting March 17th, Ms. Anne Bord will take over as Director of the Preschool. We will continue to operate the two buildings as we always have. As we work together, Ms. Bord will handle operations in the Preschool and I will assist as needed. I let you know this so that you are aware that while we have confidence in Ms Bord in her new role, she will not be alone. In addition we have qualified teachers who will take over Ms. Bord’s Learning Support schedule in March.
Approximately twenty years ago, a group of women formed a prayer group called V.I.P. (Victory in Prayer). The group prayed for the school, teachers, priests and families. I have been blessed to be part of this group and while our children have grown, we still meet to pray for many intentions, including the school.
Mrs. Kathy Peters had the inspired idea to build on V.I.P. and came up with Parents Praying for Our Schools (St. Joe’s & OLVCS). She created a sign-up requesting that parents, grandparents, etc, commit to praying for 15 minutes 1 day/week during Lent for our two schools. Below is information and a link to the sign-up. There is incredible power when we come together in prayer.
Make it a Great Day!
Samantha

Parents Praying For Our Schools
Looking for Something "To Do" for Lent?
We got that! Sign up now to pray to 15 min one day per week for the students, teachers, and administrations of OLV and Saint Joseph's - that's only 6 times! Lent begins on March 5th. Sign up now at https://stjoeacad.org/parents-praying/. You will receive an email reminder each week, to help you "keep on praying." Our goal is to have one parent, grandparent, or friend of OLV and Saint Joseph's to be praying for our schools on each of the 40 days of Lent.
Mr. Stec's Clean Up Crew
We are looking for help to clean up our beautiful school!
- If you are wanting a way to give back to OLVCS and want to earn service hours, sign up today!

Boys Basketball
The boys finished the year with a hard fought game to the final second. Coach Bronson stated that the boys embodied the spirit of a champion this year, and the eighth graders rounded off the year with a magnificent performance from each of them. We appreciate their effort and leadership this year.
Girls Basketball
Coach Muench stated that this season had a turn around when the girls realized with passion and determination they could achieve anything they set their minds to. The 8th graders brought out their leadership skills to offer help when it was needed, support their teammates, and create a family while aiding the team to victory. They have big futures ahead of them as they prepare for their new journey into high school.
