New Literacy Resource for TK-Grade 2
We are excited to introduce a comprehensive literacy resource for students in TK-Grade 2 called Fundations. Fundations utilizes a structured literacy approach grounded in the science of reading to make learning to read fun while laying the groundwork for lifelong literacy. The program’s research-based approach and extensive materials allow TK–Grade 2 teachers to confidently present a carefully structured reading, spelling, and handwriting curriculum using engaging, multisensory techniques. Fundations is aligned with the science of reading and guides teachers to provide effective instructional practices.

Much more to come, but please save the date for the following two events:

Family Movie Night Suggestion
To help families spend time together and share common experiences, The Leadership Institute of the Diocese of Bridgeport provides recommendations for Family Movie Night. Each week, a new movie recommendation and explanation are available for your consideration. Click here for recent suggestions, including this week's suggestion, "Ordinary Angels".
When hairdresser Sharon Stevens (Hilary Swank) reads about the hardships of a local five-year-old girl who urgently needs a liver transplant after losing her mother, she immediately feels compassion for the child and her family. Despite her own personal battles with alcohol, Sharon throws herself into helping the family, organizing fundraisers and rallying the community to ease their crushing medical debt. Based on an inspiring true story, Ordinary Angels is a heartwarming drama that celebrates the power of human kindness and perseverance, reminding us that ordinary people can accomplish extraordinary things. The story also points out the necessity of facing our own struggles with humility and honesty. The film is rated PG and is family-friendly, but does deal with some heavy topics, such as death and alcohol abuse.
