Your BiWeekly Update from Lilja Elementary School
THANK YOU!
Dear Parents,
As we approach the end of the school year, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and collaboration throughout this academic year. Your dedication to your child's education has truly made a positive impact on our classroom community and has helped create a vibrant and enriching learning environment where each student has had the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive. Together, we have celebrated successes, overcome challenges, and fostered a love for learning.
Thank you for entrusting us with the privilege of nurturing and educating your child. Your involvement in their learning journey, whether it was attending parent-teacher conferences, volunteering in the classroom, or supporting their remote learning, has not gone unnoticed and is deeply appreciated.
We look forward to the next wonderful school year filled with collaboration, positivity, and student learning!

KEEP THE COMPOST GOING!
This spring Lilja was the first Natick public school to institute a full waste sorting line in its cafeteria, and the results have been tremendous. We estimate diverting more than 880 lbs of liquid and food waste from incineration since we started (for perspective, that's the weight of a small adult moose!). Lilja's lunch monitors, custodial team, teachers and students all helped make this possible, and the Town of Natick is offering all Lilja families a special coupon to start curbside composting at home with Black Earth, the same organization that collects our school cafeteria's food waste. Visit BlackEarthCompost.com and enter "Lilja Elementary" in the referral organization field, then use coupon code LILJA10 to sign up and receive a free green curbside bin and 10% off your subscription. Black Earth Compost contributes $10 toward Lilja's compost service fee with each new sign up. Win for you, win for Lilja, and win for the earth! Thanks for helping to keep the compost going!
