IAMacomb Update
October 31, 2024
October at the IAM
I am often inspired by IAM Students. They are a thoughtful, reflective, compassionate group of students. The National Arts Honors Society decided to spread positivity by posting decorative notes around the building. They offer encouragement and inspiration to students and staff at the IAM.
We continue to recognize students through our IB Learner Points of Pride program. Staff can nominate students who exemplify one or more of the IB Learner Profile qualities. It is a wonderful opportunity to reinforce this important part of being an IB student at the IAM.
Thank you for your on-going support for students as they pursue their education at the IAM and with the International Baccalaureate Curriculum. Your support is essential to both the progress of our students and the success of our school.
Diploma Programme
This month, seniors made CAS presentations to the 9th, 10th and 11th grade students. This was an opportunity for them to present about their opportunities and to reflect on their experiences. Mr. Hrisoulis has found these annual presentations also provide an opportunity for the students to learn about future CAS options. Mr. Hrisoulis is pictured here explaining to students the connections between CAS experiences and the IAM Mission Statement.
The IB Extended Essay is due for seniors next month. With Ms. DeMay's support as EE Coordinator, they have been diligently working on this significant part of the IB Diploma Programme.
Model UN Conference
FIRST Robotics Competition
The IAM Robot Team participated in a competition earlier this month. According to Coach Randy Eveland, they had a great finish placing 17th. Here are a couple photos of the drive team and pit crew from the competition. Congratulations, students!
