The school hours for HS & EHS students are 7:45 a.m. – 2:45 p.m. The student’s arrival time is 7:45 a.m., and the departure time is 2:45 p.m. The only time Head Start and Early Head Start students should be checked out of school early is when they have a scheduled appointment or a family emergency. When students arrive late and are dismissed early, this interrupts daily routines and instructional time such as meals, daily schedules, lessons, activities, screenings, assessments, etc. Families, we need your assistance with adhering to the appropriate school hours for Head Start and Early Head Start students.

B-ROW is an acronym for Basic Right Over Wrong. The mascot is a purple maned Lion whose name is B-ROW. The very special lion mascot (“B-ROW”) promotes a multi-dimensional character building platform that works to blend education and entertainment. B-ROW the lion mascot and his “BMT” B-ROW Musical Team promotes resources for home, school and community organizations, including written curricula, animated character stories with quizzes and music for children 4-10 years of age (PreK-5th grade students). With over 15 years in research and development B-ROW provides effective good character building resources. B-ROW written resources have been used in its original format since 1997 in multiple states such as Georgia, Florida, Arkansas and Illinois. A Better Way Today, Inc. has “B-ROW the Lion” on the move. In September, teachers will be introducing the following topics and lessons to your child:

Behavior Management
We are implementing a new behavior management system, Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, called Red and Green Choices. We will use green and red choices in the classroom this year to take a positive approach to behavior and teach students the expected behaviors.
Green and Red Choices
Green Choices are positive and good behaviors stated in a positive way. Green Choices help students be able to listen, learn, keep hands to themselves, use walking feet, share with others, use kind words, be safe, work as a team, and use other green choices. The red choices mean stop and help identify behaviors that need supportive interventions.
