Notes from Nurse B
May weather is sure to bring us lots of sunshine and warm weather. Please encourage your student to stay hydrated with water and have a water bottle available for school use. If you are worried about sun exposure during outside play/learning, please help your child apply sunblock prior to arriving at school each morning.
If your child has medication in the school clinic, please make sure it is picked up on or before Thursday, May 23. Any medications not picked up by May 23, 2024 will be disposed of, as we are not permitted to store them during the summer months.
If you have an incoming Kindergarten student needing a 5 year old physical with immunizations this summer, please schedule the appointment as soon as possible. After the appointment, please provide the school with the completed Tennessee Immunization Certificate with the date of physical noted on the certificate by dropping it off at the school or emailing it to brownkri@fssd.org
If you have any questions about medications or immunizations, feel free to reach out to Nurse B at 615-472-3906 or boyntonmar@fssd.org.
Mr. Welch's Counselor's Corner
It is hard to believe that we are approaching an end to the school year. It has been such a wonderful time filled with the blessings of working with elementary children. Thank you, parents, for allowing me to be a part of your children’s education and development. That is a responsibility I take very seriously. For the month of May, we will be talking about the responsibility we have to make healthy decisions and take care of our bodies. We will also be emphasizing the responsibility we have in choosing kind words and actions to those around us. I hope all of you have an amazing summer break. I look forward to seeing everyone next school year!
The Paws Report
At this time in the school year, it is most appropriate to say thank you to our families, teachers, and community for all the positivity you instill in our students. The support our students receive from school counseling lessons, daily morning meetings with teachers, Mercy Children’s therapists, and long term family love and encouragement help to build the self-esteem of all children. SO Thank you!
