IMPORTANT UPDATES AND REMINDERS
Bond Planning
With our community’s exponential growth, it is critical to prepare for the future of Celina ISD and the opportunities we’ll provide for our students. Celina ISD invited parents, students, staff members, business and civic leaders, and community members to form a Long-Range Facilities Committee. Last spring, the committee presented a Long-Range Facilities Plan to the CISD Board, including recommendations for future district land and facility needs — all of which will require funding from a voter-approved bond election.
In preparation for the coming bond to fund these identified needs, CISD formed a 2025 Bond Steering Committee by extended invitations to some previous Long-Range Facilities Committee members with the addition of new representatives from our community. Now, we have appointed a committee of over 50 CISD stakeholders who are charged to consider the Celina ISD Guiding Principles to cultivate the “Learner Experience.” The committee will meet multiple times over the next several months to examine demographic patterns, financial data, and capacity analyses to ultimately furnish the CISD Board of Trustees with a recommendation for a 2025 Bond Election.
For more details about our bond planning please visit our Bond website page.
Grading Coalition
The Grading Coalition met four times in November to continue working on refining our assessment and grading practices. So far, they have gathered valuable input from students, parents, and staff members, helping to shape a shared understanding of our beliefs around grading. The next steps will include creating a formal beliefs document and reviewing our current grading policies to ensure they align with these principles. The coalition will reconvene in January to complete their work and finalize recommendations. We appreciate the dedication of all those involved in this collaborative effort.
