RES Weekly Buzz

This past week RPS held its fall Chorale Summit in the Lane Auditorium featuring the elementary, middle, and high school choruses. Thanks to Mrs. Shaw-Reese and Mrs. Pike for their work with the students to create a fun and uplifting night full of wonderful music. Also, thanks to Mr. Griffith, a special guest from Boston Children's Choir who worked with our children, and Mr. Lawnsby for playing piano for the students.

On Friday morning our 1st and 2nd grade students had a special visitor from Endicott College. Each classroom had a college student join their classroom for a read aloud and then donated the book to the room. The Endicott Readers will continue to visit throughout the year, reading to one grade level each month. Their overall message to our students is that Readers Are Leaders, which we love! We are very excited for their next visit!

Though it has been 7 weeks since the beginning of school, we have seen many shining moments among our students. We are thrilled to see them making good choices throughout their day and appreciate your support on the home front.

RPS Music Calendar

In order to alleviate congestion and assure a safe environment for students and families, we are asking drivers to take caution and be aware of their speed and attention to pedestrians, most especially during the busy times of drop-off and pick-up. We understand this can be a hectic time, and we ask that drivers proceed with caution and care for the safety of all involved. The Rockport Police Department will be present to help monitor the flow of traffic. We appreciate your cooperation and patience in making this daily duty a little more pleasant for all involved.

1. Please review the RPS COVID-19 Health and Safety Protocols for this upcoming school year: RPS COVID Protocols 2022-2023. If your child is demonstrating any symptoms of COVID, they should do a rapid test at home and follow the protocol linked above.
2. Please remember to send your child with a water bottle EVERY DAY for school!
3. Please make sure your child wears appropriate clothing for changing outdoor temperatures.

Homework Club for Gr 3-5 in room G132 with Mrs. Trumbour. The schedule is as follows:

• Monday and Thursdays 3-4pm
• Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8-8:45am
