Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We invite you to join us in honoring those who have battled or are currently fighting this illness. Your strength inspires us all!
The Muscle Shoals Fire Department is offering T-shirts for sale to support breast cancer research. The shirts are available for $20 with sizes ranging from Small to 3X. They can be purchased at Fire Station 1, located at 1002 Avalon Ave. Get yours today!

Pumpkin Painting Contest
We are so excited to announce our first ever Pumpkin Painting Contest. We will accept 50 participants on a first-come, first-served basis, and the community will vote on what they deem the best painted pumpkin. There will be first, second, and third place winners, each receiving exciting prizes. The contest will open on October 1st and close for judging on October 25th, with winners announced on Halloween. The final products will be displayed at the front of City Hall for everyone to see. Please refer to the guidelines below for more details. We would also like to extend our appreciation to the sponsors for their generous support in providing the prizes. Let the pumpkin painting begin!
*Must pick up an application at City Hall on or after October 1
*Must provide your own pumpkin and painting supplies
*Must return finished pumpkin to City Hall by October 25 for judging
*Winners must pick up prize by November 8
1st Place – The Soap Factory gift valued at $100

Christmas Parade Applications Now Open
The Muscle Shoals Christmas parade applications are now open! If you are interested in being in our 22nd annual parade, be sure to fill out an application and submit it by 4:00 PM on Monday, November 18th at Muscle Shoals City Hall. Concert by Swinging River Jazz Band
We are excited to invite you to the City Hall Amphitheater on Sunday, October 6th for a performance by the Swinging River Jazz Band. Good company and great music - What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon! The concert is free admission and will kick off at 2:30 PM.

City Council Meeting - 9/16/24
The 2024 10U Cal Ripken World Series Champions and their coaches were recognized for their outstanding season and achievements! They were awarded plaques by the 2014 12U Dixie Youth World Series Champions. We want to thank Lee McIntyre and Dawn Woodall for organizing this special ceremony and extend our congratulations to this team once again.
We had the opportunity to read a proclamation designating the month of September as Suicide Prevention Month in Muscle Shoals, AL. On behalf of the Alabama Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, we would like to invite you to participate in the Shoals Out of the Darkness Community Walk on October 27th. The City Council meets on the first and third Mondays of each month, with work sessions beginning at 5:00 PM and regular meetings starting at 5:30 PM or upon the conclusion of the work session, whichever is later. Anyone wishing to address the City Council at either session may click "City Council Agenda Request" above to access the link and complete a request. The completed request must be submitted to the City Clerk's Office in City Hall by 3:00 PM on the Friday preceding the meeting of your intent to speak.
