Unlocking Media Excellence - Haslett Media Productions!
A Comprehensive Media Education
At Haslett Media Productions, our curriculum is designed to provide students with a well-rounded media education. From the fundamentals of camera operation to the intricacies of live event direction, our program covers it all. The courses, Broadcast I, II, III, and Film, are designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the ever-evolving world of media.
Broadcast I
Students in Broadcast I learn the basics of camera work and video editing. They gain hands-on experience operating cameras during live events and learn the foundational skills for high-quality video production.
Broadcast II
Building on the skills acquired in Broadcast I, Broadcast II students dive into the world of news creation. These students develop the skills to create high-quality news stories and work in our control rooms during live events.
Broadcast III
Our Broadcast III students take their skills to the next level by producing news shows and directing live events from our control rooms. This class is designed to refine their expertise in directing and producing.
Film Class
In addition to our broadcast-focused classes, our Film class offers senior students a creative platform to explore and develop their filmmaking skills. From scriptwriting to cinematography, students engage in the entire filmmaking process, culminating in their film projects. This class complements our broadcast curriculum by providing a broader perspective on media production.
Live Events and Real-World Experience
A standout feature of our program is the opportunity for students to apply their skills in real-world settings. Our students are actively involved in producing live concerts and sporting events, providing them with invaluable hands-on experience.
Concerts and live sporting events are streamed on our YouTube channel: Haslett Media Pro. There is NO subscription or fee required for this service. During playoff games, we are required to stream to the NFHS Network per MHSAA policy. This does require a subscription to the NFHS Network.

Note from Superintendent Malley on Emergency Closures
Dear Haslett Families,
I know the recent emergency closure of Wilkshire due to the power outage wasn’t easy on anyone, especially so early in the school year. It disrupted routines for parents, students, and staff alike. I also understand that many were dealing with power outages at home, making the situation even more challenging.
While the closure wasn't ideal, it serves as a good reminder to ensure everyone is set up to receive district notifications. If you haven't already done so, I encourage you to set up a Skyward Family Access Account and subscribe to our district app for push notifications. These tools are the best way to make sure you receive timely updates about any future closures or other important information. Links to both are available on our Parent Portal webpage.
For more information on our Emergency Weather Closures procedures, please visit our Emergency Weather Closures webpage.
Thank you for your flexibility and understanding during this time. Your cooperation has been greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Patrick Malley, Superintendent
