A Word From Mrs. Loor
What a fantastic first week of school! Those 55 degree mornings really brought on those fall feelings. I hope you and your families have settled into your school routines. It was wonderful seeing everyone at the Back to School Party on Friday. Thanks to the PTO for organizing this fun kickoff to the year!
Our Back-to-School Night is scheduled for this Wednesday, September 11, beginning at 6:30 PM. Please see below for the Back-to-School Night schedule. The schedule is designed to give you ample time to visit one or more classrooms. For example, if you have 2 children in the school, you have the opportunity to attend a presentation for both of them. If you only have one child in the school, it is up to you which session you want to attend. Both presentations will be the same. There will be a brief general parent presentation at the end of the night with me. Please remember that while this is a “parents only” occasion, it is not a time for individual conferences with your child’s teacher. Individual conferences will be scheduled later on this fall.
6:30 - 7:15 Meet the Special Areas/Student Support and Special EducationTeachers
- Who: Special areas/student support teachers - P.E., art, music, STEAM, library, world language, Learning Workshop, ESL

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday!
With Warmest Regards,
Mrs. Loor

Kindness Crew
The Kindness Crew is proud to start our year by bringing awareness to pediatric cancer. September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. The Kindness Crew is asking for your donations to help us build Butterfly Boxes to share with the young patients at Morristown Medical Center. In support of The Brooke Healey Foundation, we will be collecting items from this Amazon wish list. Donated items can be purchased and sent to school with your student or mailed directly to Mrs. Jill Mills at Franklin School. Donations will be accepted until Friday, September 20th. The Kindness Crew will package the items to be delivered to the hospital.
We want to share a big thanks to Ms. Jen Curcio (Franklin's Speech and Language Pathologist) for initiating this drive. Ms. Curcio has been supporting The Brooke Healey Foundation for many years. We appreciate her work and support of this cause!
News from the Cafeteria
All grades will be able to buy snacks everyday. There is an assortment of chips and cookies. Ice cream is back on the menu and is for sale only on Wednesdays for grades 4 and 5 and Thursdays for grade 3.
Please talk to your children about whether they would want or need an additional snack. They can only purchase a snack or ice cream if they have money in their account. You can put money on their account through PaySchools.
If you have a 1st grader, please work with them on memorizing their PIN. It will help us to move the lunch line along faster. Thank you!
