Trailblazer Family Newsletter

Message from Mr. Horne
Broken Arrow Families,
We are off to a great start to our school year! We have been spending a lot of time on teaching and reinforcing The Broken Arrow Way (expectations for demonstrating responsibility, respect, safety and kindness in every area of our building). We are utilizing Trailblazer Tickets to reinforce students who are caught modeling The Broken Arrow Way throughout our school each day. When students have their ticket drawn out on Trailblazer TIcket Tuesday they spin the wheel and can win prizes for their whole class and also for just themselves. It has been energizing to see all of the positive vibes around our school for making good choices.
I take great pride in being the principal at Broken Arrow. I always strive to provide the school experience I would want for my own child. If anytime you have questions I am always here to support you and your child. However, I ask that you contact the classroom teacher first with questions about things that happen during class as they will have firsthand knowledge to better answer your questions.
It is going to be a great school year!
Have a great weekend.
Mr. Horne

*FROM THE NURSE'S OFFICE*
Hello Trailblazers!
I wanted to introduce myself a little bit! My name is Kay Dickey and I am starting my 3rd year here at Broken Arrow as your School Nurse! This is my 11th year total as a nurse. I worked at Children's Mercy in oncology for 8 years before coming to BA.
I have a new daughter, Alaina, that was born in April 2022. Also at home is my husband, Ben, and my 10 year old dog child, Lily. When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my little family and watching my daughter grow and learn. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family, crafting, and watching movies.
Please take some time to go over the Health Services pages (linked below) and let me know if you have any questions! I am excited to be back from maternity leave and see everyone's smiling faces this year!
