BLMS Student/Parent Memo

I hope you and your loved ones are having a Happy Valentine's Day! Give your student a hug, middle schoolers love that, especially in public!

It was great to see so many of you for our Student Led IPS Parent Teacher Conferences on Tuesday and Thursday of this last week. We thank you to those of you who attended with your child and were able to be a part of those and learn about what your child is interested in taking over the next four years. We will be working with those students who did not present their IPS during conferences during English classes to present to either their English class/teacher or to their Grade level counselors/principals. Thanks again to those who presented and came to visit with our teachers.

Please help us by continuing to let us know what we can do to improve our family engagement.

Each Semester I like to update all of you on our list of clubs that students can be involved in.

Here is a list of optional clubs for all students.

Every week that we have students we offer a free study hall to all students on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday after school. This study hall is staffed by two of our teaching staff who are there and willing to assist any students who may need help on getting caught up on assignments. We are excited to offer this program free of charge for all students/parents, so please take advantage of this opportunity if you need to get caught up or any extra help.

• Thursdays- Ms. Gillespie and Ms. Scheidt

Parents are responsible for picking their student up at 4:00pm from study hall if they are going to participate.

We would like to say thank you to our BLMS Booster Club for supporting our teachers and staff during conferences by providing a great meal of Olive Garden for staff on Tuesday evening. The staff sure enjoyed the meal and thanks you for helping us once again with taking care of our amazing teachers. We would also like to thank the Westside Family Church Group for donating snacks and treats to our staff on Thursday during conferences. Your generous time and efforts are greatly appreciated.
