Senior Living Center
March was International Working Women’s Month, and the Senior Living Senior hosted two guest speakers in celebration. Both women are in positions traditionally held in the work force by men. Sharon Green (right), Corrections Officer at the Muscle Shoals Police Department who does it all, and Christie Ezell (left) of Randall's Collision Center who offers insurance estimates, alignments, body work, and more. They spoke about what brought them into the field they are in, some of the difficulties they have faced, and what they enjoy most about their jobs.
Storm Drainage
Keep it Clean
Illegal dumping and littering are significant issues in our city, leading to a substantial financial burden on the city's resources. Trash accumulation along roadways, particularly near manufacturing facilities and workplaces, is a common occurrence. It is essential for individuals to properly dispose of their trash in designated bins, whether at stores, gas stations, offices, or personal residences.
Improper disposal of trash not only results in visual pollution but also poses environmental hazards. Litter can easily find its way into bodies of water through storm water runoff, causing harm to aquatic ecosystems. Additionally, litter can be blown onto private properties, schools, and businesses, creating a negative impact on the community's aesthetics.
To address these issues, it is crucial for everyone to be mindful of their waste disposal practices. It is illegal to dump trash or brush on the roadside, with fines of $500. If you witness any illegal dumping activities, please report them to the Muscle Shoals Police Department at (256) 383-5675.
Let us work together to maintain a clean and safe environment for our city by responsibly disposing of our waste in designated receptacles.
