Hearing and Vision Screening
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Vision and Hearing screenings were held at your child’s school on (dates) 10/1,10/2 and 10/4.
All children enrolled in Pre-K, Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 4 were screened for hearing and vision if they were in school on the screening day(s).
If you did not receive this referral form in the US Mail and your child was present on the screening day, then your child passed.
If your child did not pass the screening, a referral letter has been mailed to you via U.S. mail. The letter has screening results and information on follow-up.
School based vision screenings may not detect every vision problem. To learn more about possible vision problems and symptoms or health conditions that may require additional evaluation go to Montgomery County Government’s website.
https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/HHS-Program/PHS/SchoolHealth/HearingVision.html
Contact your school’s nurse if you have questions about your child’s screening.
We Need Volunteers for Career Day!

As a reminder to our returning families and notice to our new families, at Tubman ES, we do not celebrate Halloween at school. Please do not send your child to school in a costume on this day.

Dear Staff, Parents, and Guardians:
We are pleased to inform you of an opportunity to purchase a piano for your family. Schaeffer’s Piano Company. Inc., located in Rockville, Maryland, is the area’s oldest piano store. This agreement also provides MCPS families and staff an opportunity to purchase these and other in-stock pianos for considerably reduced prices at an annual piano sales event. This year’s liquidation sales event will take place November 16–24, 2024, at 105 North Stonestreet Avenue, Rockville, Maryland 20850. Sales will be by appointment only to provide an opportunity for you to purchase these pianos before they are offered for sale to the public. All pianos will carry a 15-year transferable warranty. Each piano will come with a bench and one free in-house tuning. For additional information, you may visit the Schaeffer’s Piano Company, Inc., website at https://www.schaefferspiano.com.
