LEAPING INTO LEARNING: BIO STUDENTS DISSECT FROGS
Our BIOLOGY students recently performed frog dissections, delicately extracting the frog's tiny organs and observing its intricate anatomy. These hands-on activities bring science to life in a memorable way. While the frogs certainly were not smiling, our students were! It was a fun and educational experience, with a few “ribbits” along the way!
Special thanks to Biology teachers Ms. ANNE MURPHY and Ms. REBECCA WHEELER for organizing and leading such engaging lessons!
SMHS ROBOTICS AT THE WINTER CLASSIC TOURNAMENT
On Saturday, January 4, members of the SMHS Robotics Club participated in the VEX High Stakes Winter Classic Tournament at Mashpee Middle High School. Out of 38 teams, our Team B (Owen Kravitz, Luke Glaser, Oliver Herschler, Jonathan McElroy, and Paxton Harper) finished 20th and made it to the quarter finals. Our Team A (Riley Merry, Dillon Florence, Milan Kiss and Jack Reilly) finished 33rd. Congratulations to all our participants for their dedication, positive attitude, teamwork and good sportsmanship shown at the competition!
SLEUTHING IN SCRUBS: MEDICAL MYSTERY SOLVERS
Grade 8 students in our PLTW MEDICAL DETECTIVE classes recently performed lab experiments to determine the most effective antibiotics to prescribe patients with serious bacterial infections.
