Middle School Internet & Social Media Presentation
The Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office is hosting a presentation at Delaware Township School for all Middle School students (rising 6th-8th) AND parents on June 11th at 6pm (right before our PiE meeting). The goal of this presentation is to educate students and their parents about the general dangers of the internet, including the risks of providing information and chatting with strangers, cyberbullying, and catfishing.
In preparation for the summer, where our children will have a lot more unstructured (and possibly unsupervised) downtime, we think this informational session will be helpful for all of you. Please consider attending with your Middle School student.

PK-5 students should come prepared to engage in physical activities. Students are reminded to dress like they would for Physical Education Class. (Students are encouraged to wear DTS attire)

8th Gr Trip to Washington DC
Our 8th Graders are having a great time touring Washington DC! It is a great trip to kick off the last two weeks of school and end their time at DTS!
Move Up Day
Our students once again will participate in Move Up Day!
On Monday, the students will have an opportunity to preview the grade they’ll be entering in September! Students will move up to the next grade level and learn all about their upcoming grade from their upcoming teachers! Students will be mixed, so they may not be with the teacher they will have in the Fall. While our K-7 students will visit new classrooms, our 8th Gr students will begin practicing for their promotion ceremony!
6th Gr Bagels & Locks Orientation
Save the date!
Our current 5th graders will be invited to a Middle School orientation on Tuesday, August 26th!
They will learn all about their transition to Middle School, and they will be able to practice using their lockers and switching from one class period to the next.

Remembering Mr. Hesington
Mr. Michael Hesington devoted 35 years to Delaware Township School. He taught physical education and health before moving on to the administrative team first as a Lead Teacher, then the Supervisor of Elementary Education, Athletic Director and then the Vice Principal. After retiring in 2015, Mr. Hesington returned to help out for a while in physical education classes.
People remember him as always having a kind and friendly disposition. When serving as the disciplinarian, he was fair with students and treated them with respect. With teachers, he always acted as a partner. To parents, he was honest and transparent. Athletes could always count on him to cheer them on and coaches could count on his support with equipment, uniforms, officials, and running the scoreboard.
Mr. Hesington was an influential presence in Delaware Township during his 35 year tenure. His loss is mourned by many. Link to his obituary.
Role Models of Character Education
Each month, our DTS students will discuss and learn about a character education trait.
May's character education trait was Resilience.
A student from each PK-5 homeroom and Gr 6-8 content area was chosen because he/she demonstrated empathy this month and was a role model for others.
Congratulations to all of the recipients!
In June, we will highlight students who demonstrate Acceptance!
Library Books
A friendly reminder from the DTS Library
All books are NOW due to the library!
Please look through your house for any overdue books!
24-25 Revised District Calendar

End of Year Performances
As we wind down the year and begin our end-of-year celebrations, our students will begin participating in various grade level performances during the school day that parents and guardians will be invited to. We ask that younger and older siblings remain in their classrooms to continue their learning for the day and experience their own end-of-year procedures and activities. We all must work together to send a consistent message to our students about how important it is to be present in class. Thank you all for your cooperation and understanding.
Help Wanted
Are you or anyone you know interested in working a few hours a day at DTS?

We have 1:1 student positions available, as well as classroom

Lost and Found
Our Lost and Found is making it difficult to walk into the foyer of the building!

With so many families driving students to school, the carline will back up at times and some families have resorted to using the bus line to drop their children off. Please do not enter the driveway until all buses have departed. Thank you for working with us to keep all our children safe.
