Good Evening Bishop Woods Families,

This is Ms. Crisci with some updates:

I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend enjoying some time with family and friends.

We are heading into April and warm weather is on the way. We need your help to keep our students engaged and focused. Middle school field trips are being planned so please remind your children of the school’s grade level expectations in order for students to attend any planned activities.

Students can lose privileges based on behavioral referrals, not completing academic requirements and not following the non-negotiable dress code of no ripped jeans, no belly shirts, or pants worn below the waist. Names will be taken and privileges will be lost. Please reinforce this expectation at home.

We know our students can do this!

This week March 25th-March 28th, our Culturally Relevant Teaching Committee is having a weekly challenge in celebration of Brotherhood and Sisterhood. Each day students will be challenged to wear different color clothing. The teachers will keep track of the number of students who participate. The class with the highest number will receive a surprise.

Monday - Accept others and their differences WEAR SOMETHING BLUE

Tuesday- Use positive school language, no profanity or derogatory language WEAR SOMETHING PURPLE

Wednesday- Be compassionate give 2 compliments to 2 different people WEAR SOMETHING GREEN

Thursday- Stay Positive: ignore negative thinking. Wear something White for Unity!.

3/29 Fri. No School in observance of Good Friday

STRIVE is our schoolwide climate and culture program. Ask your child about STRIVE and what it means! We have monthly activities with our buddies, learning tasks aligned to the theme, and daily announcements reminding us how to STRIVE every day!

Join us for an evening of fun while Bishop Woods Staff helps work the register and the drive thru - all while raising money for Bishop Woods!

Thank you for sending your children to school - even on half days! Every minute in school counts! And we had 85.5% of students present in school on the most recent half day, March 13th. This is a great number, but we need it to be higher! Please make sure to send your children to school, even on Early Dismissal Days. The students are often Surprised & Delighted by that they find on half days. 😜

Thank you to all families who participated in our annual Pie A Teacher fundraiser. We raised money for the school and had so much fun!

Bishop Woods has a school based health clinic operated by the Fair Haven Community Health Care. It is located in the nurses' suite on the first floor of our school. The clinic can provide back to school physicals as well as acute care to those students who are enrolled. While the clinic does not replace your primary care provider, it is a convenient way for both students and parents to access care without delay, leading to less missed time from work and school.
