Maddie Yalove and Tristian Hall Earns Marquee Award Nomination for Annie Get Your Gun Production
Congratulations to Seniors Maddie Yalove and Tristan Hall! They have earned prestigious nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress and Outstanding Lead Actor, respectively, at the 2025 Marquee Awards for their standout performances as Annie Oakley and Frank Butler in Annie Get Your Gun. Their recognition places them among just five students selected in each category from the entire East Tennessee region, highlighting their exceptional talent in high school musical theatre. The Marquee Awards, celebrating excellence in student theatre, will be held on Sunday, May 18, at the Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville. Winners in these categories will advance to represent the region at the national Jimmy Awards® in New York City, a significant milestone in their theatrical journeys. Way to Go!!
Congrats to our students going to Governor's School!

COUNSELOR'S CORNER
Graduating seniors take note! Pellissippi State is making advising appointments now for the fall semester. Attached are the instructions on how you can schedule your advising and orientation appointments. You can use either the My Pellissippi or Navigate account. Need assistance? See your counselor or reach out to Connie Miller at Pellissippi at cjmiller@pstcc.edu.
All AP Testers* (except AP Spanish Language students) - Over the next two weeks, your AP exam will have a digital component administered through Bluebook; this application must be downloaded onto your school-managed device. On test day, you must manually input your College Board account information into Bluebook; it will not auto-populate, and you will NOT have a test ticket!! Please log into Bluebook every day before your AP exam to ensure that you KNOW your account information on test day. Bluebook also houses exam preparation and practice questions, so those resources will also help you anticipate the exam material. Also, you must show your ID on test day!!! This is different from past years!
Senior parents and families: we need your helping in assisting your child with completing his/her senior tasks. These tasks help us gather data to celebrate students at the Senior Assembly and at graduation. More importantly, your child will indicate on the SchooLinks platform where to send his/her final high school transcript. If he/she does not complete these items, his/her final transcript WILL NOT BE SENT, and your child won't be able to register for classes in college.
Here is SMORE that outlines these tasks for your student in detail and provides links to all steps. Your child was emailed this same information, but he/she may need your help completing a couple of the tasks. Senior tasks MUST be completed by Wednesday, May 7 at lunchtime. May 7 is College Signing Day at MHS, and students are encouraged to wear their favorite college or career-related attire! We will celebrate the Class of 2025 at lunch on 5/7 with a sweet treat. Questions? Please reach out to your child's school counselor.
Upcoming Scholarship Deadlines:
There are still a few scholarships available with May deadlines. Please consult the scholarship tab in Canvas to learn more.
Gradebook Information
To help clarify information within PowerSchool, the following symbols will be consistently used to communicate to parents and students regarding assignments and grades.
STUDENT CHECK OUT PROCEDURES
Check-outs should be held to a minimum and are limited to the following:
Emergency - Decision to be made by the principal or assistant principals.
Prior arrangement - If a written request is received by officials in the student services office prior to the beginning of the school day, the student will be dismissed at the requested time. The checkout note must include the student’s full name, date, time of dismissal, phone number where parent/guardian can be reached for verification, and signature of the parent/guardian.
- The parent/guardian comes to the main entrance office to sign the student out.
Students who become sick during the school day must report to the assistant principal’s office/school nurse before they call home. The assistant principal’s office will assist the student and permit the student to call home. The student will remain in the assistant principal’s office or with the school nurse until he/she receives permission to go home or until he/she is picked up by a parent/guardian.
Students are allowed to check out during third block only for medical or legal purposes, and proper documentation must be provided. Students are not allowed to check out to retrieve items needed for school. Leaving school without permission will result in disciplinary action.
Students checking out of school on an altered schedule day will receive an unexcused absence unless the school is provided the appropriate legal or medical documentation.
In the know with PTSO!
The Maryville High School PTSO is a committed group of individuals seeking to create lasting memories for students and teachers. They meet monthly at 12:30pm at MHS. We invite anyone interested in joining this group to attend the monthly meetings below.
