Kicking off 10 years of GLOBE Trot
Dear GLOBE families,
We’re excited to kick off the countdown to our 10th annual GLOBE Trot, a school-wide day of fun, run, and other exercise-focused activities on November 15.
GLOBE Trot is also our biggest fundraiser of the year, and we need your support to make our 10th annual event a success.
Here’s what you need to know this week:
Fundraise
Look out for log-in information from Qgiv to access your child's individual fundraising page. Your child's account will be set up, so fundraising can begin right away. Search for your child’s account in the link to be found in GLOBE's Weekly Newsletter tomorrow.

Have questions on how to get involved?
Please contact Andrew Dahl, board member and GLOBE Trot committee lead.
Here, Adrienne McMillon, Board Treasurer and Finance Chair, shares her GLOBE Trot experience as a parent and former committee lead:
On what she finds most rewarding about participating in GLOBE Trot:
I appreciate the ability to see how my volunteer effort has a direct and immediate impact on the education of my children. When a community member decides to give, I experience immediate gratification, which is different from my corporate work, which is focused on long term strategic outcomes. That impact is what drew me to development and working on this event.
On deepening her community connection through volunteering for GLOBE Trot:
I didn’t know a lot of people at GLOBE when my daughter started Kindergarten on the Spanish track, so volunteering for this event was a great opportunity to get to know more families and learn about the school operations. I had an incredible committee last year, with every parent invested in the school. That group is where a lot of the magic happened.
On why 100 percent participation is a worthy goal
We focus on the participation percentage versus amount raised because we want everyone to feel invested in the success of the campaign–even if it’s just $1. It’s about being grounded in the C of CREST–the community aspect. Because we all reap the benefits from the funds, whether it’s the language assistance we’ve been able to add through new Teacher Assistants, or technology that students use for class.
Looking ahead
We’ll share more information in the weeks ahead via GLOBE's weekly newsletter and social media. We encourage you to share pictures and stories from previous events with the hashtag #GlobeTrot24.
