Welcome Back!
Now that we are into our first full week of the school year, we hope you're settling into your new schedules and routines. We've had a great time getting to know some new faces while catching up with familiar ones. If you're looking to get more involved, keep your ears peeled for announcements, and see further below in this newsletter for a few club interest meetings happening this week.
Parents and guardians, you can get involved too! Check further down for information on this year's first PTO meeting.

Picture Days
Picture Days for students in grades 9, 10, and 11 will take place on September 18 and 19 (retakes will be on October 23). Students will be led to the auditorium as a class during their gym, health, or Driver's Ed period. We ask all students to have their photos taken, even if you do not plan to purchase pictures. It is very important to have up-to-date photos in Genesis each year.
Senior Portrait Make-Ups
Senior portrait make-ups will run from September 30 through October 2 in the auditorium. See the flyer linked below.
You must schedule your session using the portal.
If you are unhappy with your pictures after these make-up dates or are unable to schedule an appointment, you can arrange for a session with the company on your own time at their Bensalem location (use the number and email on the flyer).
Even if you do not plan to purchase photos, please have your picture taken (it's free) for the yearbook!

Club Spotlight of the Week
One of our newest clubs here at LHS, the Advocates for Innocence Club seeks to advocate for individuals who have been either wrongfully accused or convicted of a crime. The club creates fundraisers and events to raise money and awareness for the nonprofit Innocence Project, which is “committed to exonerating individuals who have been wrongly convicted, through the use of DNA testing and working to reform the criminal justice system to prevent future injustice.” ANY student at LHS is eligible to join the Advocates For Innocence Club and new members are always welcome! Check out some photos below. First meeting: September 16 in Room 227 during Resource 2.
Get Involved
There are endless ways to get involved at LHS! Click here to access the most up-to-date listing of clubs and activities offered. This document will be updated throughout the year as needed.
*PAY IT FORWARD*
Formalwear Donations
Mrs. Harvey's Advanced Sewing Techniques class is seeking donations of men's and women's formalwear (think bridesmaids dresses, old prom gowns, old suits, etc.). It's a perfect opportunity to clean out your closets and give these garments another life! Students will be redesigning these pieces throughout the year. Donations can be dropped off in the front entrance vestibule or to Room 720. Please contact Mrs. Harvey at eharvey@ltps.org with any questions.
Blanket Drive
LHS is collecting new, handmade, washable/dryable, colorful, cheery, cuddly blankets for Project Linus, a non-profit organization that provides blankets to children in shelters, hospitals, and social service agencies. Give a little security, warmth and comfort to a child by donating a special blanket made with love — just for them. Blankets can be knitted, crocheted, tie-blankets, etc. (100% cotton, flannel, single-ply polar fleece, or acrylic yarn…please no wool). The central NJ chapter is currently most in need of blankets for school-age children (48" - 72" long are preferred, square or rectangle). Click here to view the flyer for more information, or contact kroche@ltps.org with any questions. Students who make blankets can also earn volunteer hours for their time. The drop-off bin is located in the main vestibule at LHS.
