HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK
WORLD PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE
Our WHS World Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Professor Sidi Joh Camara, is working on a combined performance piece with our Intro to Dance and Choreography class taught by Ms. Wilson. This collaboration highlights the West African traditions of combined drumming and dance and demonstrates the accessibility for music and dance for all! We can't wait to see you at our first performance (TBD)!
RED CROSS CERTIFICATIONS
The Culinary III students, along with their instructor Kevin Marston, completed their Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid certification as well as their Department of Defense STOP THE BLEED training program. They are the first class at Watertown High to complete this life saving program! Huge thank you to Mr. Marston and Ms. Burke for arranging this.
SPECTACULAR SCIENCE
Our AP Biology classes participated in Organelle "Speed Dating"! Students made dating profiles to describe their cell parts, rotated around the room to share their jobs and typical hangouts, all while figuring out how they worked together within a cell.
EVEN MORE SCIENCE
On Wednesday, October 2nd, Ms. Hannon and Ms. Kraemer had the privilege of accompanying Campbell Pelton-Cairns to the 31st Annual Harvard Prize Book Award Breakfast at the Harvard Club of Boston. In the spring, Campbell was selected as Watertown High School's recipient of the Harvard Prize Book Award as part of the school's Junior Book Award Program. In addition to celebrating Campbell's successes, Ms. Hannon was selected as one of the 2024 Prize Book Excellence in Teaching Award recipients. Congratulations to both Campbell and Ms. Hannon!

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS!!
We have been receiving calls from our neighbors about student street parking. Please take a moment to review our city's parking policies.
- There is a 2hr parking limit. If broken, WPD will issue parking tickets.
- It is ILLEGAL to idle. Other than being illegal, this contributes to more traffic and poor environmental conditions.
For more information on parking, please review the Watertown Police Department's parking regulations here.
Please remember to be kind and respectful neighbors :)
