Saint Bridget School: a Catholic community that encourages a love of God, respect for all, and academic excellence.
Principal's Notes
As we embrace the beauty of winter, the falling snow offers us a wonderful reminder of God’s love and mercy. Just as each snowflake is unique and perfectly made, so too are our children—precious gifts from God, created with purpose and love.
Snow also symbolizes the fresh start God offers us through His grace. In Isaiah 1:18, we are reminded, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” This season calls us to reflect on God’s mercy and the importance of teaching our children about forgiveness, kindness, and faith. Our second graders recently experienced this renewal through the sacrament of confession, a beautiful step in their faith journey.
As we look ahead to the Lenten season, we will be offering confession to all students in grades 2-8, providing them with the opportunity to receive God’s grace and prepare their hearts for Easter.
School Mass: Our 5th graders will be hosting our school Mass this Thursday at 9:00 am. All are welcome!
May we embrace these winter days with gratitude, seeing in the snow a reflection of God’s blessings and the purity of His love. Wishing you and your family a peaceful and joyful week!
All my best,
Matthew Collins

Faith Formation - Weekly Aspirations
Stay Calm, God’s Got This
John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Sometimes school can be stressful, but Jesus offers us a special kind of peace that the world cannot give. We don’t need to be troubled or afraid because God’s peace is with us.

Parking Lot Safety - Reminders
To keep our school community safe, we’d like to remind everyone about our parking lot guidelines. Here’s how we can all do our part:
PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY
ROLLING DROP OFF (K-8 students)
PARKING
- Please make sure to walk your child safely across the driving lane to the school. (Pre-S and Pre-K students are to be escorted to the side door for drop off).
- Whenever possible, pull all the way through to the second row of parking spots. This helps keep the flow smooth and prevents cars from backing up as our wonderful kiddos make their way to school.
FIRE LANE SAFETY
- There is absolutely no dropping off along the basketball court. This area is a fire lane and is designated solely for a walkway.
Thanks for teaming up with us to keep everyone safe and sound! We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to an awesome second half of the year. 🌟

School Closure/delay due to Weather Conditions - Preparing for Winter Season
Please review the snow-day/inclement weather school cancelation process.
If Abington Public School is noted as closed/delayed on public television - Saint Bridget School will also be closed/delayed. A text/voice message will be sent out from our student information system to announce closure/delay.
Saint Bridget School may opt to close/delay even when the Town of Abington does not. It is important to think of Saint Bridget School as a “regional school” covering 23 communities. Street conditions in regional towns, and area school district closures may not mirror the conditions or actions taken by Abington. In that case, SBS may opt to close/delay school. A text/voice message will be sent out from our student information system to announce closure/delay.
In the case of a school delay, there will be no before-school program and no school for Preschool and Pre-K ½ day students.
Saint Bridget School may close early if the weather worsens dramatically during a daytime storm, in this case, the After School program would be canceled. A text/voice message will be sent out from our student information system to announce an early closure.
