Three Cheers for the Red, White, & Blue

Only Together, We Are TJES!
Hello Patriots!
Looking at the week ahead, we have a teacher workday on Monday and report cards will come home on Friday. Also we will continue collecting change to raise money to support Grayson County, located in southwest Virginia, who was recently affected by Hurricane Helene. The grade level with the highest total collected per student will receive an ice cream/dessert party. Next week, we have Fall Picture Day on Tuesday, October 22nd and the Hometown Homecoming Parade on Thursday evening, October 24th.
LOUISA COUNTY MUSIC NIGHT is this Friday in the Jungle.
Students participating in this Friday’s Music Night are reminded to be at Louisa County Middle School at 6:30 p.m. Students must wear their “You matter” kindness shirt and jeans. After students sing The National Anthem in the stadium, parents and guardians please sign your child out with Mr. Raines on the track. Thanks!
As you may know, each October, we celebrate #Kindness Month here at Louisa County Public Schools. This month, we are launching a new initiative, Kindness For The Commonwealth, and we will be collecting funds and other donations to support students, staff, and families with Grayson County Public Schools. This school division in southwest Virginia was tremendously impacted by flooding caused by Hurricane Helene and faces days, months, and years of recovery.
As part of this movement, we are hosting several different initiatives:
First, we will be hosting a coin drive at our school from October 7th to October 18th, with all of the proceeds going to support the GCPS community.
Then, from October 21st to October 31st, we will be collecting supplies for the GCPS community, such as cleaning supplies, basic school supplies, canned food, and bottled water. Supplies can be dropped off at our front office. You can find a full list of recommended supplies on our division website, lcps.k12.va.us.
So be sure to bring in your spare change starting October 7th as we support our friends in Grayson County as they recover from Hurricane Helene.
