Principals Message:
Dear Eagle Nation,
We had a fantastic week in Eagle Nation, full of memorable moments, meaningful learning, and reasons to celebrate!
Spring Sports Are Soaring
Our Centennial spring sports teams are continuing to shine in their competitions—thank you to everyone who has come out to support them! Special shoutout to the CHS Tennis Team for an outstanding start to their season. As league play kicks off this coming week, we encourage you to cheer on our Eagles and show your support at upcoming games (CSD Roadmap'27, Goal #3).
A Taste of the Northwest: Farm-to-School in Action
On Friday, students enjoyed a unique lunch experience thanks to our Nutrition Services Department and Farm-to-School Program. One of the lunch options featured Columbia River steelhead, glazed with a local marionberry-huckleberry sauce crafted by Oregon Hill Farms. This fish, provided by Pacific Seafood in partnership with the Colville Confederated Tribes, was sustainably farmed in Nespelem, Washington. This experience was part of our Farm-to-School initiative, which brings fresh, locally sourced foods to our cafeterias. It supports student nutrition, local economies, and agricultural partners across Oregon and Washington. It was outstanding to see many of our students try something new and embrace this opportunity (CSD Roadmap'27, Goal #2)!
Hands-On Learning in Action
Over Spring Break and into this week, CHS students participated in several enriching field trips that connect directly to our commitment to equitable access to high-quality academics. Highlights included:
-
Thespian State Competition
-
PSU Meet and Greet
-
Blazers Game Field Trip
-
Feed the Mass (REAP) Field Experience
These experiences are made possible by our dedicated staff, community partners, and the enthusiastic participation of our students. Thank you all for showing what it truly means to be an Eagle (CSD Roadmap'27, Goal #4)!
Spring SUN!
A big thank you to our CHS SUN Program, which continues to sponsor outstanding after-school opportunities. Our Spring SUN session starts on Monday, April 7, with even more clubs and activities for students to enjoy. Transportation is available via the SUN Activity Bus (CSD Roadmap 27, Goals #3 & #4).
We are proud of everything our Eagles accomplished this week. Let's carry this positive momentum into next week and continue striving for excellence.
Remember: Once an Eagle, Always an Eagle.

CHS Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week is May 5th -9th
Teacher and staff appreciation week is the first week in May. We wanted to take this time to recognize our amazing staff! Each and every one of them plays an important role in educating all our students and making CHS such a wonderful place. We greatly appreciate all the hard work and care they put into their jobs every single day. Please take a moment this next week and help us recognize all the hard-working staff here at CHS. We have the best staff around!
AP Exams May 5-9 and May 12-16
If you signed up to take an AP exam this year, see THIS SCHEDULE for dates and times of the exams.
- The exams will be held AT CHS.
- Please arrive at least 20 minutes before your exam is scheduled to start. Late admittance will not be allowed.
- If the exam you are taking starts at 12 pm, there is a good chance, depending on how long your exam is (see the College Board website), that your exam will run long enough to where you will miss the bus to go home from CHS after school. If this is the case for your exam, please plan to have a ride pick you up at CHS.
- More exam information will be emailed to students and families starting in mid April.
Contact Mike Henderson at mike_henderson@csd28j.org if you have any questions.
