Kindness Matters
Over the last several days, our administrative team held grade level assemblies to review expectations, rules, and policies which focused on working together to make Sunrise a fun, safe, and welcoming place for everyone. We talked about bullying and harassment and the importance of reporting when situations occur or when witnessing it happening to someone else. Students understand that personal electronic devices cannot be out during school hours and must be turned off and in their backpacks. We also discussed that if smartwatches cause a disruption, they will need to stay in backpacks as well. Students know that weapons, even toy weapons, can never be at school. They also know that they can't use other items, such as a pencil, to hurt someone. We also focused on all of the things we CAN do to make our school the best it can be. We discussed using kind words, doing random acts of kindness and making new friends. We watched a short video together to show how kindness is contagious!
Parents are always welcome to have lunch with their child at school. Adults may purchase a school lunch for $4.95. Parents may also bring in food for lunch. Due to allergies and specific dietary needs, we don't allow bringing lunch for other students. When you arrive for lunch, please check in at the office through our security system. Our lunchroom supervisor, Ms. Ambrose, will show you where our guest tables are located.
Our fall picture day is September 24. All students will have their picture taken even if families choose not to purchase picture packets as we use these pictures for the yearbook.
