February 28, 2025
FPS students, staff, and families,
February has finally come to an end. It has been an unusually challenging winter and I want to thank all of you for your patience. Hopefully, March is good to us and we get an early spring. Winter activities are wrapping up and spring practices will begin. March brings contests and performances for the fine arts. Teachers and students will be focused on maximizing every day of instruction, state assessments begin in approximately twenty school days. Make every day count as we head into spring! Thank you for sharing your students with us. It’s always a great day to be a Hornet!
Ty A. Crain, Superintendent of Schools
💬 💭 💬 We Want Your Feedback! 💬 💭 💬
As part of our District's Strategic Plan, we are again surveying students (grades 6-12), parents/guardians, and staff to gather information to assess the climate and culture of Fulton Public Schools.
These anonymous surveys include 20 questions and provide an open-ended text field for additional comments. The findings will be used to support continuous improvement planning. We encourage you to take this opportunity to provide your feedback on our schools.
If you have not received a survey invitation and believe you should have, please reach out to our Communications Office at communications@fulton58.org or 573.590.8000.

Attendance Matters: EVERY DAY COUNTS!
Each year, students in FPS take state assessments from grades 3 through 12. These assessments provide valuable insights into student learning and their preparedness for college, careers, and future success. Data from the 2024 state assessments reveals the following trends:
- A student with 90% attendance is 1.5 times more likely to achieve proficiency on the state assessment compared to a student with 80% attendance.
- A student with 90% attendance is 3 times more likely to score proficient compared to a student with 70% attendance.
These findings highlight a clear connection between attendance and proficiency, demonstrating that higher attendance is strongly linked to better academic performance. To reinforce this, the State Attendance Target is for 90% of students to attend school at least 90% of the time. Achieving this goal helps ensure your child is on track for success, both academically and in life.
