Dear Mansfield School Community,
With the closure of the school buildings for the remainder of the school year, I’m sure that many are wondering when you will be allowed to come to the schools to pick up belongings left in student lockers and desks. I am waiting for Governor Baker to lift some of the social distancing restrictions. Once that happens, a schedule will be announced so that students and their families can access their lockers, desks, and cubbies.
I am excited to announce that for the second time in two years, Mansfield Public Schools is the recipient of a Safer Schools and Communities “Local Equipment and Technology” grant offered by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security’s Office of Grants and Research (OGR). Through this grant competition, Mansfield has been awarded $50,000 which will be used to strengthen the exterior envelope of both Jordan/Jackson and Robinson Elementary Schools.
We would like to extend our appreciation to Town Manager Kevin Dumas, Chief of Police Ron Sellon and Fire Chief Justin Derosiers for their ongoing support of our schools and their cooperation with this grant. Work is expected to begin within the next few weeks and will be completed by September 2020.
The 2020 U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools rankings were announced on April 21, 2020 and in the State of Massachusetts, Mansfield High School is ranked #81.
U.S. News published numerical ranks for nearly 18,000 public high schools, along with school-specific data on enrollment, graduation rates, student body demographics, free and reduced-price lunch, location, school type and state assessment results.
