November Character Trait of the month is Peace
The Character Trait that CCA students and staff are focusing on in November is Peace. The Bible verse for peace this month is 1 Corinthians 14:33, “ For God is not the author of confusion but of peace.“ On Wednesday, Allie asked three students, “What does peace mean to you?” Fourth grader, Fallon said, “Peace is like being calm.” Sixth grader, Izzy said, “Peace is being quiet and calm.” And David in 10th grade said, “Peace is being calm and not having disturbance.” Remember to be praying for peace this week, and to find it in the Lord! --Allie

Class Spotlight: 6th Grade English
Lilly sat in on the 6th grade English class with teacher, Gayle Wilson, on Wednesday, November 13th. Students were working on an English chapter review. They were reviewing nouns, verbs, abbreviations, comma placement, and apostrophes for their chapter 3 test, which was on Thursday. Sixth grade students are switching classes, using planners, and learning to navigate middle school this year. -Lilly
Survey Says:
We surveyed students this week to find out whether they would prefer to see colorful leaves on trees or snow covered leaves on trees? Colorful leaves received 44 votes, while snow covered leaves won with 62 votes. I think everyone is ready for a snow day! Fun fact, snowflakes are actually translucent, they only appear white because they reflect light. --Kynlee
Happy Birthday Students & CCA Staff
Happy upcoming birthday to CCA staff member, Travis Smith, who will celebrate on November 22nd. Owen in 4th grade will celebrate his birthday November 23rd. –Miyah
Upper School Student Led Bible Study
On Friday, November 15th, the upper school girls had their second Bible study of the year and this one was led by Clara. The girls are studying from the book titled, “Authentically, Uniquely You,” and this week their study was on authenticity. One of the main verses used was Matthew 15:8.
Clara talked about the meaning of authenticity; to be authentic means to be genuine and real, not a pretender. Some examples from the Bible that show people not being authentic include the religious pharisees. They had impure motives that made them hypocrites, telling others what to do, but not doing it themselves.
Another topic of conversation was letting our love be sincere. Have you ever done something for someone just to get their attention or you wanted them to think well of you? This is an example of not being authentic or sincere and just doing it for your gain. One of the main points from that section is, “It is amazing how difficult it is to do good things for people and not tell anyone.” Matthew 6:3-4 tells us more about sincere love. Our love should not just be a theory or speech, but shown in our deeds and in truth.
The last section is on authenticity in friendship. A great example in the Bible is the story of Ruth and Naomi. Naomi encouraged Ruth to go home to her family to be taken care of, but Ruth stayed with Naomi the whole time, even in the hardships, and showed her authentic love and friendship. She was rewarded by the Lord from it. If we want authentic friends, then we need to make sure that we are being an authentic friend to them. A true friend loves at all times and is there through the hard times. True authentic friends are faithful friends. --Carissa

CCA to Enter 2024 Lighted Christmas Parade
Hello CCA Families...
For the first time ever, CCA will enter a float in the Downtown Clinton Parade on Friday, November 29th. Mrs. Townsend will be the CCA Coordinator for the event. So far, the 7-12th grade concert band will be riding on a trailer and playing Christmas songs; however, all CCA is invited to participate.
The rules are: the trailer must be lighted with decorative lighting to be considered for judging and awards. If walking, a ratio of 1 adult per 5 children is requested if children are younger than 12. No Santa costumes, but Santa hats are okay to wear. The theme must be holiday: CCA students can wear jeans, ugly Christmas sweaters, Christmas sweatshirts, elf hats, Santa hats, jingle bells, etc. CCA would like some younger students to be dressed in Nativity costumes (CCA can provide 3 wisemen, 1 angel, 1 star, animals, 2 shepherds, Mary, Joseph & a baby doll for Jesus), so if your student is available and would like to participate, please let Mrs. Townsend know. Only walkers can pass out candy per city ordinance.
CCA will enter in Best Religious Category. Our school theme is Jesus is the Reason for the Season. Our trailer must be set up, decorated, and in place by 5pm at 209 E Jefferson St, Clinton on November 29th. Anyone who is willing to let us borrow lights and Christmas decor or who would like to help decorate the trailer, please contact Mrs. Townsend at 660-924-3581. Any student planning to walk or any concert band member who will ride on the trailer needs to be decorated with lights that you should provide (Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Amazon have options for battery powered lights, rope lights, etc). Glow sticks will also work great for anyone walking in the parade. Concert band students can wrap their stand and instrument with lights as long as it is playable!
If you have questions or concerns please contact Mrs. Townsend. Let's make our first ever entry for the Christmas Parade one to commemorate CCA's 25th year celebration. Thank you!

Senior Fundraising
Our 2025 CCA Seniors are raising money for their senior trip which is partly a mission trip and partly a fun trip. They will be going to southeast Georgia to work in a food pantry, and Christian camp for foster children.
- This year, our seniors also have an opportunity to go on CCA's very first out of country mission trip to Belize. Money raised will first go towards the Senior trip to Georgia/Florida but we have hope that if enough money is raised it will cover some of the cost to their Belize trip.
- CCA Seniors also sell homemade cookies every Thursday morning! Students love this! Just $1
Thank you so so much for all the love, prayers and support!
The seniors want to specifically thank each and everyone of you for coming out and shopping, donating items and supporting the CCA Garage sale this past Friday and Saturday.
