Lil Steamer Families --
Today is the last day for our Books Are Fun Book Blast! We set a school goal of 50% and have already reached 70% - THAT'S AMAZING!!!
Remember, each student that sends our link information out to 10 people automatically receives their 3 prizes: pirate monkey hat, axolotl finger flingers, and book safe!
And the best part of the program, is that EVERY STUDENT WILL RECEIVE BOOKS FOR THEIR HOME LIBRARY.
If you would like to donate, you can do so at: https://app.booksarefun.com/FultonES61252
Have a great weekend,
JAGH

Tips to Help Children with Organization Skills
1. Break tasks into chunks.
Help kids break school projects or household chores into smaller, more manageable steps. This will show them that each project has a beginning, middle, and end, which can make projects feel less overwhelming. For example, if your child’s nightly chore is to clear the table, explain: First, scrape any food scraps into the garbage. Then load the dishes into the dishwasher. Then wipe the counters.
2. Make checklists and to-do lists.
Once kids know all the steps involved with a particular task, help them add it to an overall to-do list. Include regular homework and chores on the list. Encourage kids to keep the list in a place where they’ll see it often and can check off accomplishments as they go. Some kids might create their list using a smartphone app. Others may write it on a dry-erase board in their bedroom or print out a list to carry around throughout the day.
3. Teach calendar and time management skills.
Encourage kids to write down important tasks on a calendar (digital or paper). Then help them estimate how much time each task will take. After they complete a task, ask whether the time estimate was accurate or not. If needed, suggest adjustments for next time. It may also help to have kids write the due date directly on school assignments.

Apparel Store: We’re thrilled to announce that apparel store items are anticipated to be ready within the next week! Once the orders are complete, we’ll send out information regarding pick-up times. Thank you for your patience—we can’t wait for you to see your new gear!
Teacher Requests: PTO has approved a request for classroom supplies for our new kindergarten teacher, Ms. Tiffany Smith. We’re so excited to welcome Ms. Smith to the FES family and extend our heartfelt congratulations on her graduation!
Polar Bear Patch Holiday Shop: The Polar Bear Patch will take place December 16–20. This special holiday shop allows students to purchase gifts for their loved ones. Keep an eye out for a flyer coming home with your student soon!
- Volunteer Opportunity: The flyer includes a section that can be cut off and returned to school for parents who wish to volunteer at the Polar Bear Patch.
- Budgeting Help: To make shopping easier, the flyer also includes a budgeting section where parents can help plan how much their student should spend on each loved one. This section can be sent to school with the student’s spending money to ensure a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience.
The PTO has been hard at work preparing for this event since the end of last year’s holiday shop. Every item was hand-picked by the board, and we’re so proud of this year’s offerings. We can’t wait for the kids to enjoy this magical shopping experience!
Next PTO Meeting: Mark your calendars! Our next PTO meeting will be on February 4th, 2025, at 7 PM.
