The entire Swanson staff wishes you all a wonderful winter break filled with moments that create memories to warm your hearts. We’ll see you all in 2025!

Goal Update: As we approach winter, we’re focusing on maintaining progress in our reading scores.

Tip for Parents: Use the winter break to explore reading activities! Visit your local library or bookstore and let your child choose books they’d like to read. Discussing choices can build their enthusiasm for reading. Challenge your child to complete the hot cocoa reading incentive over winter break!

Please look for upcoming information regarding our next Winter Challenge to keep students reading, writing and doing arithmetic over the Winter Break!

Each first Friday of the month is Swanson Spirit Day. On this day we all wear our Swanson logo wear or school colors, blue and white, to show our spirit. We begin our day by saying the Swanson Pledge together. It’s a fun day filled with terrific Swanson spirit! The First Friday Spirit Day is Friday, January 10th!

The Excellence In Youth Team is excited to showcase Varun, Arju, and Vinny from Swanson as the most recent recipients of the Digital Dozen award for the 24-25 school year! The Digital Dozen award is presented to WCS students who earn 12 of the digital badges from the EY Website (ey.westside66.org), which is available to students district-wide. It takes self-motivation, grit, and determination to earn these badges, and these star students should be proud of this accomplishment!

The Excellence In Youth Team is proud to showcase star student Olivia B. from Swanson

as the most recent recipient of the Digital Dozen award for this school year! This is the

second award for Olivia this school year. Her favorite badge that she completed for the

this digital dozen was Wordle badge. She started in her 25th badge today and plans to

start working on her third digital dozen!

Congratulations, Olivia!

Remember to set up your child's lunch account through My School Bucks. This is an easy way to add money for a la carte items or extra portions, for your child's favorite lunch items. They will thank you for that. When setting up your child(ren) you will need their student ID, which you can obtain by calling the front office.
