Rossi Owls W.I.S.E. Words
Message from Mrs. Heer, Principal
Welcome to November!
We have so much to be grateful for at Rossi Elementary School! Above all else - we have wonderful staff members, students, parents and a thriving community. It takes a village and I am honored to be apart of it.Our first PTO fundraiser - Double Good Popcorn - was a HUGE success. We sold over $44,000, which allowed us to profit $22,000. This exceeded our expectations and we are so grateful to everyone who participated. This allows us to have multiple field trips and fun filled activities year-round for our amazing students.
I wish everyone a healthy and happy Thanksgiving season. I am grateful for you and thank you for sharing the opportunity to work with your children. They bring a smile to my face. Always remember to lead with a grateful heart and your life will be full.
Love,
Mrs. Heer, Principal

Congratulations to our Winners for the ''Best Trunks"
What a fantastic night at Rossi's Annual Trunk or Treat! Thank you to everyone who joined in the spooky fun and helped make the event a huge success. From creative costumes and decked-out trunks to mountains of candy and endless laughter, the Rossi community brought Halloween to life!
A big shoutout to all the volunteers, families, and staff who dedicated their time and energy to make this event memorable. It’s moments like these that truly bring us together. Until next year, stay spooky and safe!
Grandparents Lunch & Scholastic Bookfair

Thank you to all the grandparents who joined us for a week full of laughter, love, and delicious lunches!
W.I.S.E. Assembly
October W.I.S.E. Assembly
On October 2nd, Rossi held its Monthly WISE Assembly. This one was a real memorable one for sure! We rewarded all the students who won for Responsibility in each homeroom. We were also introduced to the new competency-Honesty and Communication. Our superheroes this month were none other than the beloved Chik Fil-A Staff! They were hysterical and so educational. They for sure reached each kid with their message of being honest and using communication wisely. However, Rossi has their very own Superhero right here in our building. Our own Ranisha rang the bell in front of all the staff and students! She is Cancer Free. There wasn't a dry eye in the room! This was a touching and beautiful ceremony to celebrate Ranisha and her bravery and courage throughout her journey.

Safety Patrol News
October News
It has been a busy month for Rossi’s Safety Patrol! Safeties began manning their posts and keeping the hallways safe for our staff and students. Our patrol made big strides against breast cancer this October in our very first “Friends Like Me” drive benefitting the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition. Safeties collected comfort and care items for women facing that challenging diagnosis of breast cancer. Big shout out to safeties Shawn Fisher, Olivia Baldwin, and Ellie Franceschini for tabling at Dixon’s Dance Academy’s 8th Annual “Think Pink” walk. They managed to collect dozens of goods and promote our patrol in the community. This month we also hosted our first “Thoughtful Thursday” and safeties Dallas Johnson and Ellie Franceschini went around the halls of Rossi promoting a positive environment giving our hard working teachers a sweet treat. Our gold badge winner for the month of October is Olivia Baldwin!
Next month, keep an eye out for our annual turkey and ham drive as well as supporting our canned food drive benefiting the Vineland Soup Kitchen!
Thank You, Mr. Jeff Martine
Rossi Roomies
Rossi students in Mrs. Lee’s third grade class and Ms. Hensley’s second grade class got together to learn about Election Day. Students listened to the story, “Splat the Cat for President”, discussed the voting process, filled out a voter’s registration card, then held an election. The candidates: Chocolate Oreo and Golden Oreo! Students casted their vote in the ballot box, then excitedly waited for the results. It was a close race, but ultimately Golden Oreo won, showing it was the clear favorite among students! Students favorite part was getting to sample their favorite cookie.
Mrs. Rakotz’s 5th grade class and Mrs. Lamkin, Ms. Stretch and Mrs. Bassetti’s kindergarten class had an important election - our favorite cookie! Students taste tested an Oreo, a chocolate chip cookie and a frosted sugar cookie and cast their ballots. Once the popular vote was tallied, frosted sugar cookies were the winner! Then, students were surprised to learn that their ballots listed a state on the back and we tallied the electoral college votes. Although no one reached the necessary 270 electoral votes, frosted sugar cookies came closest with 230 votes!
Mrs. Gonzalez’s third grade class and Mrs. Snitzel’s kindergarten class enjoyed some fun activities together. First, they learned all about the history of this popular candy. Next, the students in third grade helped their little buddies by using the candy corn to count numbers. They also tried to see how many candy corn pieces they would need to fill a paper candy corn. Finally, the students were able to try the sweet treat. Mrs. Snitzel surveyed the students and teachers. By popular demand , it looks like the students loved the yellow, orange, and white sweet treat unlike the teachers.
Mrs Higinbotham’s 2nd grade class teamed up for a buddy activity with Mrs Trionfo , Mr Cervi & Ms O’s class . We made Mummy cups, Mummy mix, played Gibberish riddles, Smarty Pants ,and zoomed in pictures! It was a fun time meeting each other and having mummy fun!!
