Hello FECC Families!
I am Jen Meyerhoff, Principal at FECC. Please know I speak for ALL staff when I say we are so excited to start the school year with you and your child!! Thank you SO much for entrusting us with your pride and joy. We love our jobs, we will love your children, and we can't wait to meet you all! We understand that for many of you and your children, this is your first school experience. Our job is provide a safe, supportive learning environment, and we live that every day through our mission of
"Every Child. Every Day. Whatever it Takes."
THANK YOU for your patience as we have navigated through this enormous construction project!! We are still waiting for fiber, which means we have no internet or phones. Mrs. Clines is doing her best to return phone calls through Google Phone, so if you do receive a call back, it will be from an unknown number. We hope to have internet and phones in the next few days and if you haven't received a call back, you should next week!
Open House will be a "soft opening" of our building. :) All construction projects that affect safety will be resolved. Some of our finishing touches, such as some beautiful trees in the entryway and our natural playground, will not be completed by Open House. We will have a Family Night once everything is completed so that everyone is able to see those things!!
Sincerely,
Jen Meyerhoff

Attendance
Our goal this year is 90% attendance for every student. We'll be sending home information each month about our attendance goal, along with communication about your child's specific attendance rate if they are at risk. You will also see communication from the district about the importance of consistent school attendance. Our hope is that school is a safe and engaging space for our students so they all want to attend every day!
Tranportation Changes
If you need to make changes in your child's transportation please notify the office by 2:00 each day.

Arrival and Dismissal
Below are directions for arrival and dismissal. We hope to have a video to send you soon as well! The biggest thing we ask is that you give us grace. This is a completely new process for us, and arrival and dismissal at the beginning of the school year are always challenging times. We will do our best to get faster and more efficient as the year progresses. You will be our first set of parents to do this with us - just know we will all be doing our best! :)
Arrival
Our arrival process has drastically changed this year, as is expected!! :)
We have a front parking lot and a back parking lot. The front one will be used for all car rider pickups. The back one is reserved solely for staff parking and bus pickups. Please avoid the back parking lot at all times as you may get stuck with buses!
When arriving, there are three lanes in the driveway (we hope that these are painted soon), with arrows. Please pull into the two right hand lanes. The left hand lane is for exiting only. You will pull in, and go through the circle drive. We are hoping that the circle drive will fit two lanes comfortably.
Arrival: Staff will come to you. Please do not get out of your cars. Staff will come and let your child out of the car. Staff will walk your child in and other staff inside the building will walk your child to class.
Please make sure you send their backpacks with the teacher tags attached - you will receive a tag at open house.
After dropping off someone will guide you to the exit lane. Please pay attention to the stop sign holder, as she has a super important job!
Dismissal
Our dismissal process has also drastically changed!
Please use the front parking lot for dismissal also.
You will pull in the same way you do for arrival, and exit the same way.
Dismissal: Please pull in and stand by your car. Staff will bring your child to you so that you can buckle them in. We cannot buckle them in for liability reasons. Please don't walk up to the school as it puts everyone behind. We promise we will walk your child to your car in a timely manner. :)
Car Riders
When you come to pick up your child, we ask that you hang the below tag from your rearview mirror. We will give you 2 at Open House - if you need more just ask! This helps speed up dismissal, but it's also a security feature. No matter who picks up, if they don't have this hanger, we will need to stop, ask for name and driver's license, check our system, and call the parent/guardian if the person is not in the system. We are very careful and serious about who your child goes home with.
If you send someone else to pick up, please give them the tag or explain to them that we will check ID. Also, please call us and let us know when someone new is picking up your child.
Keeping the tag on a hanger is super helpful for us so that we don't have to run up and stare into your car if it is on the dash. :) Thank you!!
