Our Lady of Mercy
NEWSLETTER | TERM 2 | WEEK 8 | 5 June 2024
Dear Parents and Carers
I trust that your children are all well rested after a lovely long weekend break. This term has one extra week, so we were all very grateful for the extra days rest.
On Friday last week, our teachers attended an English as an Additional Language professional development day. The day was a great success and our educators found it highly beneficial to network with other schools for moderating activities.
This Friday we have our whole school Mass at 8:50am to which all parents and carers are invited. On Friday we also have Crazy Sock Day. This is NOT a free dress day. We ask that children come to school in their school uniform wearing Crazy Socks for a gold coin donation to support LifeLink. LifeLink raises funds for those in need in our community.
As we raise money for LifeLink this week, let us remember the words of St Teresa of Vaila and donate generously to this very important cause.
‘Christ has no body now but yours. No hands, no feet on earth but yours. Yours are the eyes through which He looks with compassion on this world. Yours are the feet with which He walks to do good. Yours are the hands through which He blesses all the world. Yours are the hands, yours are the feet, yours are the eyes, you are His body. Christ has no body now on earth but yours.’
God bless you all,
Ondine Komnick
Principal

OLOM teams at the Winter Sports Carnival
We are so proud of our senior students taking part in the Winter sports carnival - everyone played really well, despite the heavy rain, and we are so excited that both our girls' and boys' teams won! They looked amazing in their special soccer kit. Thank you to our teachers who spent the day in the rain!
Younger siblings MUST be enrolled for Kindy 2025
Year 6 students - is your child enrolled in a secondary / high school?
If you have not yet enrolled your Year 6 child for a secondary school, please do so soon. Mercy College in Koondoola has a secondary school - please contact them if you are interested.
