KEY NEWS FOR EXPLORER FAMILIES
Welcome to the 2024-25 school year! The Northwood halls and classrooms are shining and ready to be filled with all returning and new Explorers! The Northwood staff has already been busy prepping for the students’ return and we are so excited to kick off an amazing school year. To make the start of the year smooth, please review the carpool and bus information included below.
A continued focus for the district and for Northwood will center on student attendance. The importance of regular and on time student attendance will be emphasized and messaged in various ways this year. The elementary school day starts early so practice the ‘getting up early’ routine in advance. Students need to be in the building by 7:40 am daily starting on the first day of school.
Families that have second graders this year, please look carefully at the section below for information and process for residency verification. It is FCS board policy to collect residency information for all newly registered families as well as those with second graders.
Northwood will continue to place emphasis on reading. It’s so important for young students to develop reading skills as well as a positive love of reading as it truly is their connection to the world as they grow. Sneak in a trip to the Roswell Library whenever you can!
All Fulton Schools have new websites - you can check out the new look as well as find additional information by visiting our site, linked below. Specific information about grade level school supplies as well as a link to our Northwood PTA can all be found on the website.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at Sneak Peek on Thursday, August 1st. Carpool tags ($1 each) and student agendas ($5 each) for grades 1-5 will be available for purchase that day, cash only.
We are ready to jump into the positive and rewarding school year! Together we SHINE!
With gratitude,
Heather Q. Rucker, principal
