Principal's Update
November
Dear AHS Families,
As we approach the end of this trimester, I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude for the trust you've placed in us to support and guide your child’s learning journey. Every day, we’re grateful for the opportunity to play a role in their growth—academically, socially, and emotionally. Your support at home, combined with our shared goals at school, truly makes a difference in their success.
November, a month dedicated to gratitude, is a wonderful time to celebrate the partnership we share. Our collective efforts as a school community and as families create an environment where our students feel inspired, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Let’s encourage them to finish the trimester strong, focusing on their goals and giving their best effort. Together, we can help them make the most of this learning journey.
Thank you for being such an essential part of our community.
Warm regards,
Becky Bauer
Principal

ASVB
Dear Students,
If you are considering any branch of the US military, you will be required to take The ARMED SERVICES VOCATIONAL APTITUDE BATTERY (ASVAB) TEST prior to enlistment. The ASVAB test will be optional for any junior and seniors. The ASVAB is a comprehensive career exploration and planning program that includes a multiaptitude test battery, an interest inventory, and various career planning tools designed to help students explore the world of work. Results of the aptitude test and the interest inventory enable students to evaluate their skills, estimate performance in academic and vocational endeavors, and identify and prioritize possible career choices. Students are encouraged to consider their own work-related values and other important personal preferences as they explore the world of work and learn career exploration skills that will benefit them throughout their work lives.
If you would like to take the ASVAB test complete this ASVAB GOOGLE FORM contact Mr. Dachel, high school counselor, at 715-839-6031 or email kdachel@altoona.k12.wi.us

ACT TEST PREP
Preparing for and doing well on the ACT test is an important milestone in a student’s high school journey, as it can open doors to college opportunities and scholarships. The ACT serves as a key indicator of a student’s overall skills and knowledge in core academic areas, reflecting the hard work they have put in throughout high school. Strong ACT scores can make a significant difference in admissions decisions and financial aid, giving students a competitive edge in their college applications. To support our students, we dedicate one day each week during Rail Time to focused ACT prep using the Method Learning program, which builds familiarity with the test content, improves confidence, and strengthens time management skills. This will begin in December. We encourage students and parents to take advantage of this resource to ensure readiness for test day.
