Principal Message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Many of our class took a chance this week to spend some time outside enjoying the weather. While that same weather was less than ideal on Friday our students braced the coolness and had a great Terry Fox run. I was grateful to see that some parents and guardians were able to join us for this event., as well as the Evansburg RCMP and Peace Officers for helping to keep us safe.
This upcoming week we have our 1st School Council meeting for the year on Tuesday after school. Please join us for some discussions about the school. Attached to this document you will find a copy of our 2024/25 School Handbook. It is also available on our website which will always have the most up to date version.
A few quick reminders,
- If dropping off students please park along 54 Ave or in front of the maintenance shop, please do not drop off along the main road.
- Also please watch your speed passing by the schools, student movements can be unpredictable.
- If your student rides a bike to school please remind them that they should walk it across the crosswalks and to the bike rack.
If you have any questions or concerns you can always reach out to the school through the office or email me at alanstoy@gypsd.ca
Sincerely,
Alan Stoyles
Principal

Sept 24, 2024 will be the first day of Jr Kindergarten. At 8:45am students will meet Mrs. Hicks outside the school at the Northwest entrance. This is where you will drop off your child at 8:45am and pick up at 12:15pm every Tuesday and Thursday.
On the first day you are welcome to walk with your child to class as they may be a bit nervous.
We ask that each student brings the following:
-lunch and snack
-non-breakable water bottle
-inside shoes (to be kept at school)
-extra underwear, socks, pants and shirt (in plastic bag and to be kept at school)
-weather appropriate outside wear (outside recesses in the morning)
On the first day of school, Mrs. Hicks will have an information package which has a few forms that will need to be filled out and returned at pick up.
