National Pink Shirt Day ~ February 26: Started as a grassroots movement in Nova Scotia in 2007. Pink Shirt Day started when a student was bullied for wearing pink to school. His schoolmates wore pink the next day in support of the bullied student. With that act of kindness, Pink Shirt Day was born. Students are invited to wear a pink shirt in place of their school uniform shirt on Wednesday, February 26 to support Canada’s National Pink Shirt/Anti-Bullying Day.

ES Parent Student Teacher Conferences ~ February 27 (8am to 8pm) and February 28 (8am to 12pm)

• Online booking for Grades 1 to 6 is now available You will have until Wednesday, February 26 at 2pm to book your appointment(s), at which time the system will be shut down.

• Instructions on how to self-select appointments are included. Time blocks are 15 minutes in length (which includes a 10 minute appointment and 5 minutes of “travel” time).

• At minimum, parents are expected to meet with their son(s) homeroom teacher.

• Boys in grades 2 to 6 are to attend the conference, in SHS uniform, with their parents.

March Break Camp ~ Basketball: Coaches Marty Boyle and Jon Merritt are excited to offer our March Break Basketball Camp for students in Grades 3-8. Monday March 3 to Thursday March 6 from 9:00-11:00am in the Speirs Gym. Cost is $150. Players will work on skills, play games, and have fun. Thank You ~ Staff Appreciation Week: On behalf of the entire Selwyn staff, we thank the SHS Parent Volunteer Association for the delicious treats and the fun, creative activities and crafts. We felt truly appreciated and had a fantastic time. Camping out at work has never been more enjoyable!
