Superintendent's Message
Loveland Tiger Community,
After voters approved a district operating levy last May, I committed to working with our community on solutions to Loveland’s unique school funding challenges. Treasurer John Espy and I are launching that effort by creating a State School Funding Committee.
The committee will be made up of community members who will work together to identify state school funding problems that impact Loveland City Schools and advocate for solutions. Ohio’s school funding system requires districts to return to their community for funding - usually through property tax levies. Homeowners in communities like Loveland face an even greater burden because of our small commercial real estate base.
Please let me know if you are interested in joining our State School Funding Committee. The committee will meet a few times between now and the end of the school year to learn more about school funding, brainstorm together, and craft a plan.
Our district is committed to providing a high-quality education for students in a fiscally responsible way. With the input and effort of our community, I’m hopeful we can make some positive changes to state funding challenges!

Treasurer’s Message
Loveland Tiger Community,
I am honored to serve as the new Treasurer/CFO for the Loveland City School District. In my short time here, I have been working closely with the Treasurer’s Office Team and Central Office staff to continue fine-tuning the Five Year Forecast I will present in May. I’ve also been doing a deep dive into the financial processes in the district and meeting the wonderful people that make up the Loveland City Schools team.
Previously, I served as Treasurer of Milford Exempted Village Schools, Miamisburg City Schools, and the Clermont Northeastern Local Schools. I also have experience in financial software from my time at the Hamilton Clermont Cooperative and a background as a music teacher and band director.
It has been wonderful to connect with community members at the Town Hall meetings in February and answer questions as they come up. One new initiative we are utilizing is fraud prevention software created by Bonefish Systems. This vets every vendor and every transaction to ensure district funds are safe. I look forward to identifying further innovations and processes to be more efficient and effective and connecting with more staff and community members in the coming months.
Go Tigers!

Hope Squad Students Team Up to Focus on “The Mental Game”
Students involved in Hope Squad at LIS, LMS, and LHS spent a day working together and learning from Brandon Saho last month. Saho is a former sports reporter and host of “The Mental Game” podcast, who shares the story of his mental health challenges and interviews celebrities to help break mental health stigmas. He led students through team-building exercises and conversations about better supporting their friends. Hope Squad is a peer-to-peer suicide prevention program involving students from grades 5-12.
Congratulations to Loveland Cheer!
Last month, our Loveland High School Game Day Competition team competed at the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) National High School Cheerleading Championship in Florida.
The LHS Game Day Competition Team finished second in the nation in the Varsity DII-Non-Building-Game Day Division. This is the first time in school history that our cheerleaders made the finals, and it marks the highest point total and highest finish in LHS history! Congratulations to our cheerleaders, coaches, and their families! Read more about it on our website by following this link.

Science Lovers - Help Us Engage Curious Minds!
Do you love science? Have a science-based career? Or maybe a cool hobby? We are looking for presenters for LIS Science Day on Thursday, March 21st, from 7:45 am until 1:45 pm. (Lunch will be provided.) Our theme for the year is Science is CURIOSITY.
Volunteers will present a science topic of their choice for about 40 minutes to 5 different groups of students. Each homeroom group has about 28 kids. Present a lesson, lead a demonstration, or just deliver a talk about your science-related job! The possibilities are endless, and we are happy to help along the way.
We can only pull off this day if we obtain enough presenters. Even if it’s not you, maybe a coworker, a neighbor, or a family member could help make this day a huge success - please connect us. Contact Sudeepa Hall at hallz6521@gmail.com with any questions.
Helping Families in Need with 3’s for LIFE
More than 3,000 canned goods have been donated to the LIFE Food Pantry thanks to generous donations from our community during the 3’s for LIFE campaign. Students in the Loveland High School Tigers Inc. program collected canned goods to help local families in need. During the campaign, Jarvis Global Investments donated 12 canned goods for every 3-point shot scored by a Loveland boys' or girls' basketball player. Over the last three years, 3’s for LIFE has collected more than 8700 canned goods to support the Loveland-based LIFE Food Pantry. Thank you to everyone who donated!
