Turn the page, give a cheer, summer reading fun is here!!
Summer Fun
It's finally here... the time I've been anxiously awaiting since beginning at the library nearly 6 months ago - SUMMER READING!!! To say I'm excited is an understatement. Summer truly is my favorite time of the year. I love seeking out fun and memorable experiences to share with my children and I'm so excited to be part of providing those types of experience for you and your families.
You can register directly on our website at https://www.dplindiana.org/summer-reading or in person at the library. Once registered, pick up your materials and follow along for fun!!
This summer we have so many amazing things happening from weekly adventure-themed programs to special events. We have a Nature Play Day, a local author providing a creative writing workshop, Dino Discoveries with Bucky Derflinger virtually joining us from his ranch in South Dakota where he found a T. rex as an adolescent, a LEGO contest, adventure-themed one-shot D&D, Nature Rewind and Blizzard Bar to beat the heat, a live-action game of Oregon Trail, an Adult-ish book club for teens, and an end of summer pool party at the Gill Family Aquatic Center! And that's just to name a few!!
There'll be plenty of fun for grown-ups too! You'll have the opportunity to come to an acrylic painting class, an Indiana Jones themed Escape Room (free date night idea!!), Adventures in Danville tours of local spots, and an adults-only end-of-summer party at the Kickstand Bar and Grill!
We can't wait to make memories with you this summer!!
Happy reading!
