VVSD Supt. Dr. Keith Wood’s Update to the Board at the November 18 Meeting

VVSD Spotlight- VVSD Featured in Case Study for Successful Use of Achieve3000 Literacy Platform
VVSD introduced McGraw Hill’s Achieve3000 Literacy platform to students in 2011 with full implementation in grades 3rd through 10th.
Achieve3000 allows learners to be accountable for their data and growth, as teachers and students set goals and track achievements by checking data continuously. Beginning with a level set at the start of the school year, students can see their milestones throughout the grade level. As a result, students take agency in knowing and growing their Lexile measures.
“Achieve3000 Literacy has been at the center of VVSD’s literacy instruction for over a decade. We have seen tremendous growth and achievement on state accountability assessments during this time,” said Dr. Keith Wood, VVSD Superintendent of Schools. “Currently, our learners are surpassing their performance from the pre-pandemic school years, and Achieve3000 Literacy was a major factor in our literacy skills recovery.”
Watch the video to learn more about how Achieve3000 works for both students and teachers in VVSD’s classrooms.
