TNSO LEADERSHIP LINKS
January, 2025
Message from the President
Greetings, DKG Sisters!
"To us pioneers have given;
We return their gifts to Heaven;
Work for others is the leaven
That inspires our band!"...............Annie Webb Blanton and Cora M. Martin
I hope you find inspiration in the promise of a new year. As we contemplate our intentions for the highest and best outcomes for 2025, I would like to share a few New Year's quotes:
"It's a new day. It's a new dawn. It's a new life, for me. And I'm feeling good." .......Nina Simone
" The best is yet to come." .......Frank Sinatra
"You'll never get bored when you try something new. There's really no limit to what you can do."
........Dr. Seuss
"With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts." .......Eleanor Roosevelt
"Be the change you wish to see in the world." ....... Ghandi
"For I know the plans that I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." ........ Jeremiah 29:11
"I have one life and one chance to make it count for something. I'm free to choose that something... my faith demands that I do whatever I can, wherever I can, whenever I can, for as long as I can." ....... Jimmy Carter
"Be like a tree. Stay grounded. Connect with your roots. Turn over a new leaf. Bend before you break. Enjoy your natural beauty. Keep growing." ........Joanne Raptis
The last quote could describe our journey with DKG. We want to honor the past (roots) and embrace the future with each individual member (leaf) adding beauty and strength. Let's strive to enjoy our work, service, and fellowship, and to keep growing in 2025 and beyond!
In Harmony,
Marsha Brewer

The link to purchase and donate to this area is: https://www.amazon.com/registries/gl/guest-view/2IFMV9T03WDTD?ref=gr_search_page_result
Misste Phillippi, Gamma Mu Chapter, who lives in Mountain City, has also created an Amazon Registry List. What is DKGIEF? Submitted by Dr. Elaine Vaughan
DKG International Educators Foundation (DKGIEF) was established in 2020 as the result of a merger with The Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Foundation. The Foundation has awarded millions of dollars to support educational excellence through professional development, scholarships, and intercultural collaboration. There are nine funds distributed throughout the year:
1. Cornetet Award: Individual professional development - CIPD (members & non-members) & educational seminars - CSPD (members).
2. Educational Projects: Funding for projects to benefit children & education to members and non-members.
3. Educators Award Fund: Selected women authors receive cash awards for non-fiction writing impacting education.
4. Emergency Fund: Solely supported by donations, the Emergency Fund helps members with a major loss due to a natural disaster.
5. Eunah Temple Holden Leadership Fund: The ETH Fund supports superb speakers for international meetings and other leadership events.
6. Golden Gift Fund: The Golden Gift Fund offers professional life-changing leadership management seminar.
7. International Speakers Fund: Going beyond borders, the International Speakers Fund sends members as speakers into Society countries other than their own.
8. Scholarship Fund: International Scholarships are awarded annually to members for graduate study.
9. World Fellowship Fund: World Fellowships are awarded to non-member women educators who are continuing their education.
The Tennessee State Organization has many members who have received one or more of the funds listed above. In order to find guidelines, due dates, and activity participation for submission go to the international DKG website (www.dkg.org) and click on DKGIEF at the top of the page.
