24-25 CAR LINE PROCEDURES
Morning drop off -
- Our doors open for students at 7:00 a.m.
- Parents wishing to walk their students to the CIS doors should follow the traffic flow all the way around the car line and then use the visitor spots at the front of the school.
- Please do not drop off students anywhere other than our designated drop zone areas as this presents a safety hazard for students and staff.
Afternoon pick up -
- Parents who were issued tags for their front dash with their student's ID# at our schedule walk thru should displayed those on your dash. A staff member will come to each car (between 2:00-2:20) and input that number which will correspond to your student's name. If you did not receive a car tag, you may write your student's ID # on a piece of paper for your dash, take a picture of it, or memorize it for our staff member to input. This number is found at the top of your student's schedule.
- At 2:25, teachers will display the list of names on their screen to let your student know that you are in line. We will begin dismissal at 2:30 and students whose names are listed will be dismissed as their name comes up. At 2:45, we will dismiss the remaining students to the front awning area.
TRAFFIC FLOW
- Parents with students at CIS only or CES and CIS should enter the CIS campus from Old Lexington Hwy and follow the blue line on the pavement and then take the right turn that goes to CES. Here, the lanes will split into 2 lines. The outside lane (right side) is for parents/guardians with CES students and the left inside lane is for parents/guardians dropping off CIS students only. These lanes will merge just past CES and continue back to CIS. Parents should only drop off at CIS in the designated drop off area which is between the music suite entrance (near the playground) and the end of the awning at the front of the school. Please follow the directions of the adult on duty in the car line, and pull as far forward as possible before dropping off your child. After drop-off, parents should then move to the exit at Old Lexington Hwy. There is no left turn onto Old Lexington between 7AM - 8AM and 2PM - 3PM. For afternoon pick up, please follow the same flow as in the morning.
Cars are expected to pull up as far forward as is possible and to have students walk to the vehicle on the sidewalk. No students may be picked up or dropped off at Crooked Creek Park.
